That’s why he’s been silent on immigration, both legal and illegal, for most of his campaign. The others came out with detailed policies - and Cruz said... nothing. He did say, build a wall, but said the American people didn’t want to discuss what to do with all the illegals. Huh? I switched to Trump because I sure the hell did want it discussed! Now, he’s finally come out with a plan, but the details about dealing with the illegals here are vague.
Yup, donors at work. There’s no other explanation why someone who is conservative would not take a clear, detailed conservative stance. We keep hearing how liberal Trump is - yet he has the most courageous and conservative stance on immigration and terrorists. Having escaped Mexifornia, I’m going with the guy that will stop my new home from becoming an invaded cesspool.

But you need to provide links if you can prove I am wrong. Which I am not, I supported Cruz until he was silent on illegal immigration for so long so I’ve read or watched every interview and press release.

Then I wonder why he’s been so wishy-washy on what to do with the illegals here. If he had said anything the least bit authoritative/forceful/not-the-right-words-really about them, I wouldn’t have switched.

Rather than wishy-washy, it's a carefully crafted strategy to finally end the games the Democrats want to play on immigration. Refusing to discuss specifically what is to be done with people here illegally now is not a ruse to keep hidden Ted's intent on the topic (not a Rubio-like betrayal).
Consider Step 1 is making it very difficult to cross the border illegally, can't be hired or receive gov benefits, deported whenever discovered by DHS, etc., and Step 2 is what to do with illegal aliens here already.
Democrats (and their liberal media shills) *ALWAYS* insist on talking Step 1+2 together (so-called comprehensive immigration reform). What happens is Dems get their Step 2 immediately and the Republicans never get Step 1. They ran this scam on Ronald Reagan and Cruz refuses to repeat his mistake.
Forcing Dems to complete Step 1 before agreeing to even talk about Step 2 drives them crazy. It actually will make Step 2 much easier to decide later due to the large number that can be expected to self-deport if Step 1 is thorough and rigorously enforced.

Is this something he’s said or hinted at or is it a guess or hope?
IMO, he’s lost support due to this strategy, so it could backfire. Especially since Trump came out with guns blazing on the issue, leaving no doubt of his intent.
I don’t like guessing or blindly trusting when it comes to politicians, especially after being stabbed in the back with the 2014 congressional elections.
Thanks for the explanation though. I will keep my eyes and ears open. If Cruz comes out on top, I won’t be as worried now. I thought he was planning a Trojan horse of his own.
yeah, I saw that plus that he would use deportations, along with other means. I liked hearing that - a lot - after months of silence. I’d just like a little more fire and emphasis. Citizenship could be squeezed in there, and if passed via congress-would then be lawful.
I’ve escaped Mexifornia, also escaped Texas previously, and LOVE being where English is spoken and seeing American flags. The other issues don’t matter to me if the stance on this one is wrong. It will bankrupt and change this country permanently.
Trump and Cruz are our only hope, now ;)
