Columbus, Ohio (CNN)Donald Trump said Monday that he witnessed people jumping out of the Twin Towers on 9/11 from the view in his apartment.
"Many people jumped and I witnessed it, I watched that. I have a view -- a view in my apartment that was specifically aimed at the World Trade Center," Trump said Monday during a rally in Columbus, Ohio.
"And I watched those people jump and I watched the second plane hit ... I saw the second plane hit the building and I said, 'Wow that's unbelievable,'" Trump continued.
At least 200 people are believed to have jumped from the Twin Towers after planes struck the towers in an attack that claimed more than 2,600 lives.
The Republican presidential contender lives in Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan, more than four miles away from where the World Trade Center towers once stood. Trump has lived in the 5th Avenue tower since before the attacks, according to media reports pre-dating 9/11.
The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment asking how Trump witnessed people jumping out of the Twin Towers from more than four miles away.
Trump on Monday also dug into his claim that Muslims in New Jersey celebrated the terrorist attacks on 9/11, a claim that has been widely debunked by multiple fact-checkers.

Trump said -hundreds-. A more accurate term would have been -dozens-. And as I recall, most of those -dozens- were on college campuses and included the wacko left as well as Muslims.
You are exactly right. I can only surmise that there are those here with panties in great wad who constantly bristle at the fact that Trump is tops of the polls over their preferred candidates.
My son called me when the first plane hit. He said, we’ve been attacked. Husband and I turned on both TV’s to watch coverage. In my life that was probably the most shocking experience I’ve lived through.
I can’t tell you what stations I watched but I saw and heard of people jumping from the building and muslims celebrating here and abroad.
I would guess that Trump saw and heard the explosions and had multiple TV’s on and people from all over the city reporting to him to keep him instantly updated.
It seems now that in an effort to stop Trump the media and all of the Trump haters are rewriting history. Is this country so stupid that they will buy into that and worry about how far he was from the action, what he could physically see or not, whether it actually happened or not?
Is it any wonder why so many of us support Trump? We are really sick of being told black is white and called crazy if we don’t believe it?

On their website, they are quoting a mayor in NJ saying it didn’t happen...and, Ben Carson backing off saying he saw it, etc., etc. Not a peep about the article in the WaPo reporting about the tailgate parties by the muzzies
Everybody in NY was watching the biggest event of the century and he likely had a telescope. Why wouldn’t he be watching?

He 100% did not see thousands of Muslims cheering after 9/11.
On the first sentence, there is no way you can know that, because the line of sight from Trump Towers to the Twin Towers was very plain and clear.
On the second sentence, I saw thousands of mooselimbs cheering on 9/11, the fact that most were in the mid-east didn't make my any happier and I did read about mooselimbs in jersy cheering so get the hell off of your sanctimonious high horse, because you don't 100% know what Trump saw or didn't see.
Oh, so sad. I wonder if they thought there was some way to survive the fall.
