As a jet approaches a border a warning may be issued.

One doesn’t wait until they enter.

A jet may be in their own airspace when a warning is issued because their flight track indicates getting close or demonstrating intent or an inadvertent cross-border incursion.

That is why warning calls are made, to avoid conflicts.

The US does not support ISIS and never has.

Obama sure does and has actively supplied them and stopped our military from bombing them. What Obama has been doing in the islamic world and our press has been hiding is beyond sick.

letting ISIS walk freely by the THOUSANDS to fight and kill everybody, including Americans.

If they weren’t backed by nato this doesn’t happen.

turkey can go to hell and fast.

how proud of them will you be when American troops are fighting for the caliphate.

TEXT OF PUTIN COMMENT:

This event is beyond the normal framework of fighting against terrorism. Of course our military is doing heroic work against terrorism... But the loss today is a stab in the back, carried out by the accomplices of terrorists. I can’t describe it in any other way.

Our aircraft was downed over the territory of Syria, using air-to-air missile from a Turkish F-16. It fell on the Syrian territory 4km from Turkey.

Neither our pilots nor our jet threatened the territory of Turkey. This is obvious. They are fighting terrorists in the northern areas around Latakia, where militants are located, mainly people who originated in Russia, and they were pursuing their direct duty, to make sure these people do not return to Russia. These are people who are clearly international terrorists.

Taking into account that we signed an agreement on deconflicting with the US, and as we know Turkey was among the ones that has joined the US coalition.

Since Isis has such huge resources of hundreds of millions and billions of dollars coming from illicit oil sales, and they are protected by the armed forces of other states, then it’s clear why they are so brazen, why they are killing people, why they are carrying out terrorist attacks throughout the world including in the heart of Europe.

We will analyse everything, and today’s tragic event will have significant consequences, including for Russia-Turkish relations.

We have always treated Turkey as a friendly state. I don’t know who was interested in what happened today, certainly not us. And instead of immediately getting in contact with us, as far as we know, the Turkish side immediately turned to their partners from Nato to discuss this incident, as if we shot down their plane and not they ours.

Turkey not supporting ISIS?
Everyone, including NATO powers, now admits that ISIS has been exporting oil out of Syria by land convoy. Just look at a map of Syria and which countries have land borders with Syria and those with borders with those countries. I think we can rule out Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, and routes thru' Iran? So who is taking the oil if it isn't Turkey?

“Russia has blocked all sales of gas to Turkey “

I understood the gas moved in the opposite direction?

“Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu says Turkey has a right to respond to violations of its airspace.”

Don’t think for one minute China isn’t watching this VERY closely. They have airspace they claim the US has been violating recently. They may just use this as justification to shoot down one of ours.

That would be wise.

And if I was an American in the area, I would get out soon.

Funny thing, I know of a few people who are working in eastern Russia. Most are heading back to the states for the Holidays, but I wonder if they can get out now. Mainly in the ag sector there.

UN authorization? We don’t need them for anything. Abolish it.

Turkey in NATO is another farce, should be cut loose.

According to the Telegraph, the Free Syrian Army has shot down a helicopter searching the wreckage, using US-made missiles. “The Rebels’ usage of these American-made TOW missiles has increased over 800 per cent since Russia began air strikes against them at the end of September.”

Zerohedge quote sums it up:
“US-backed forces supported by Ankara and Riyadh are now using weapons supplied by Washington to shoot down Russian aircraft.”
