U.S. Constitution ^

Posted on 11/23/2015 10:25:19 PM PST by Jim Robinson

U.S. Constitution

Amendment XXV

Section 4.

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.

Thanks Jim. Always interesting. But wondering just who in the current treacherous Administration would have the courage, how much critical mass could be obtained, and how much better off would we be?

I dunno, Jim. Might have a hard time proving him incapable, since he seems to be (unfortunately) damn successful with his evil agenda.

I just can't see the politics, at least yet. When news media is completely a la carte (streaming by choice), there may be hope for electronic democracy

Until then, Sir, it's SSDD.

Well, they need to be thinking of it. Obviously, Obama is pretty close to insanity. They should not allow an insane president to run our country into the ground.

If Zero is removed, that leaves Biden. If Biden is removed, that leaves Paul Ryan. Ain’t no upside with those 3 buffoons.

"or of such other body as Congress may by law provide"

This is interesting... Thanks for posting this Mr. Robinson.

One little flaw here: I don't think you'd be able to find enough vertebrae on Capitol Hill to assemble at least one rigid spine to vote on this.

Single Sided Double-Density

Kinda miss the old 5.25's. Had thousands of them.

I guess it's better now. Sort of.

Jim, it's a good thought, and a hopeful thought.

But honestly, I'm kinda discouraged; I don't think our alleged representatives would consider it.

I live in the vicinity of Ithaca, NY, the famed "City of Evil", and proximity to that hotbed of liberal idiots gives me perspective on something:

A large percentage of Americans today think Obama has not gone far enough to advance the evil Progressive agenda.
That is a scary and sobering thought. They would fight hard to keep him in the White House, and would only let him move out if they believed that someone even farther to the Radical Left was moving in.

It's downright disheartening.

The riots alone, would bring about federal martial law.

The phony Syrian refugee crisis is the current, best bet. I have wondered, how these bastards would pull it off. Now, it is apparent and underway.

The uni-gov is going to use, yet, another self-imposed terrorist threat to attack Our Constitution, and us.

The timing is perfect, just enough lag, to blame it on the next President of the United States of America- when He will have only two bad choices- in the middle of unending domestic attacks. The socialist fascists will then undo all good done- in Our Country.

They did have a sort of charm to 'em.

I'm old enough to have started with the big 8-inch ones. Bought two Shugart drives ($400 each) and hand-built a floppy controller for my homebrew 6809 computer so I could read and write the diskettes. Man they were slow, but at the time it was so much better than cassette tapes...

Oh, Gawd listen to me. :-)

Yes it's definitely better now.
