Palin: President Trump 'a very real possibility' (Cruz mentioned)
POLITICO ^ | November 21, 2015 | Eliza Collins

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin thinks a President Donald Trump is "a very real possibility."

"I think it's a very real possibility because people are really tired of professional politicians who, you know, won't call it like they see it and maybe don't have life experiences that allow them to prove a track record of success," the former vice presidential nominee said in a radio interview with WBT Charlotte's News Talk radio on Thursday.

"That's refreshing about Trump," she said. "He's a fighter. We know he's gonna put America first, and he really nailed it early on what the main problems are in America right now, so it's a very real possibility."

The VP has no legal role in steering legislation, nor in committee assignments.

It is a ceremonial title.

Cruz would decimate Hillary, but I’m not sure Trump can in a one on one debate. He’s going to have to get better than he is now with substantive debate points.

Cruz would also make a great Attorney General or Supreme Court Justice! In fact he would be more valuable as either one over being a figure-head VP with no real power.

“I’m assuming you don’t want Cruz to gain the White House that way.”

I may not want it. That does not mean it won’t happen.

I did respect Haley. The enthusiasm with which she dispatched the Confederate flag from SC history finished her off from consideration for any national public office for me and likely many other former admirers. .

“Turning away from Trump’s inexperience and vacillation on positions is not a “dirty trick,” it is common sense in these perilous times.”

Trump has enormous experience as an executive. Cruz has some, but not nearly as much.

THAT DOES IT!!! TRUMP IS FINISHED!!!

No way can he recover from the ABSOLUTE EMBARRASSMENT of having Palin support him.

HE IS FINISHED!!!

.
Trump is an open book, and one that speaks of soft leftist leanings throughout his life.

Cruz has been morally, and intellectually solid throughout his life.

That is the difference.

Cruz is a great guy with genuine conservative agenda. However his hands are tied and he is forced to push the cheap labor express by his rich donors. Cruz has no choice except to keep pushing for more H1-B visa’s, more legal immigrants, never allowed to say ^deport ALL illegals^, and push for foreign trade pacts with cheap labor countries including the Pacific rim countries. No politician can ever disobey his/her rich donors. It simply does not happen and is never allowed to happen.

The media, GOPe, dems, & superpacs are all going to try to take Trump down. It’s going to be like nothing we have ever seen.

“Imagine 8 years of Trump followed by 8 years of Cruz.”

Honestly, I would rather imagine 8 years of Senator Cruz as POTUS and Mr. Trump returning to the business world where he belongs, or becoming having his own political talk show where his demeanor/behavior is more appropriate. Maybe Mr. Trump should run for Governor or New York, and the Senate. However, poll standing or not, he is not, IMO, suited by temperament or experience to be POTUS.

A President Cruz could raise and groom a worthy successor. Why bother with Mr. Trump who has no record of being in public office? He makes a great many grandiose promises that many want to hear, but can he really get them done while in office? I honestly do not think he can. Running a business and “leading” a country are two separate things. As a owner of a business he could “dictate” to subordinates. A POTUS cannot. To be effective a POTUS must lead. Mr. Trump’s business experience, IMO, does not translate into being an effective leader in a public office.

I would hope that Senator Cruz will either win the nomination or return to the Senate where he will do more good.

What do you mean ^going to try^? It has been happening for 6 straight months. What do you think Megyn Kelly, Karl Rove, George Will, Stephen Hayes, Politico, HuffPo, Salon, MSNBC, governor Rick Perry, senator Linda Graham , governor Bobby Jindal, governor John Kasich, senator Rand Paul, governor Bush, etc. have been doing for 6 months? Media folks are not remaining neutral, and the republican big shots have violated Reagan’s 11th commandment.

But in spite of all that in coming, Trump remains at the top of almost all polls. I have a feeling Trump can handle these all talk no action politicians.

Oh please, Hillary will talk no substance. Any debate will be controlled by a Candy Crowley.

Some people put entirely all their hopes on debates. Obama was awful at debates and won twice.

The people who run the polls and do the counting have much more power than a debate. Particularly in the last 8 years.
