Sanders: 'To hell with the fossil fuel industry'
The Hill ^ | 11/21/15 | Mark Hensch

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Saturday called for Republicans to abandon the corrupting influence of the Koch brothers and other wealthy energy magnates.

"This is a party that rejects science and refuses to understand that climate change is real," he said of GOP during the annual Blue Jamboree in North Charleston, S.C.

"I understand if you stand up to the Koch brothers and the fossil fuel industry, that you'll lose your campaign contributions," the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate added.

"[Climate change] is already causing devastating problems all over this world. To hell with the fossil fuel industry. Worry more about your children and your grandchildren than your campaign contributions."

Sanders linked wealthy energy interests with overall corporate power, arguing that Wall Street must improve society.

"When Wall Street went broke, they came begging to Congress for help. Now it's Wall Street's turn to bail out the middle class of this country," he said.

"While people are working so hard, what is going on all is that almost all of the income and wealth that is being created is going to the top 1 percent," Sanders continued. "That is not what America is about."

The Koch brothers' vast donor network spent $129 million during the 2014 election cycle, according to an IRS filing released Tuesday.

That amount is more than five times the $22.3 million David and Charles Koch spent in 2013, the IRS filing said.

The siblings' political network has previously committed $889 million towards conservative and libertarian principles during the 2016 presidential election.

Charles Koch has suggested about $250 million of that amount is for defeating Democrats during next year's White House and Congressional races.

Sanders has long decried the influence the Kochs and other energy moguls play in working against tackling climate change.

"When you have people like the Koch brothers and ExxonMobil today spending huge amounts of money trying to deny that reality, it slows up the entire world from aggressively addressing what is an international crisis," he said late last month. "This is serious stuff."

I’ve told this story here before, but not for a while.

My son-in-laws father, who is an extreme leftist about 85 years old, lives in a house fairly near ours. His wife complained that the squirrels were eating out of her bird feeder. So, he sat on the porch all afternoon with a shotgun and shot every squirrel that appeared. He nailed 18 of them.

Needless to say, they also heat the house with a wood stove.

Isn’t is interesting how George Soros earned his billions through illegal currency manipulations, yet he’s the darling of the Democrats while the Koch brothers earned their billions by selling heating oil and gasoline on the free market, and they’re the devils to the Democrats.

We’ve got these oil lamps. Only the kerosene in them burns
my eyes like the blazes! Paraffin oil doesn’t do that; but
don’t know if I can store enough paraffin oil for them or
not. Just can’t use the kerosene. - I’ve become SO sensitive
as I’ve gotten older. Wasn’t that way when I was a kid. :o(

My understanding is that whale oil was a superior oil. The flame was very white and very bright and the oil was sweet and pleasant. Of course, they don’t sell it anymore. But I do have some spermaceti candles which are in pristine condition.

When crusty Sanders kicks the bucket he will rot and turn into methane...a fossil fuel. How fitting.

Naturally, the buzzword-spewing demagogue brought up the Koch brothers. Like all leftist jackasses, he's a self-parody.

“This socialist idiot should be forced to forgo any heat that comes from fossil fuel of any sort when he’s in Vermont...or anywhere else. “

Neither Sanders nor anyone in his campaign should be transported in any conveyance that runs on fossil fuels, obtain any heat fueled by fossil fuels, utilize any electricity produced from fossil fuels, or utilize any product or medication produced from, or with, fossil fuels.

When I get some beeswax candles, I blow through them like a
dose of salts. They burn down too fast. I like the fragrance
of beeswax! - Paraffin oil lasts pretty good; but husband
doesn’t like to buy it because it’s high & getting higher!
He sneaks in kerosene in our lamps; and I don’t know it
until I light a lamp and my eyes start burning.

Ok then, tell me this. Where, *exactly* does he plug in that really long extension cord for his electric airplane?

Then stop using fossil fuels, Bern. Vermont, please put your pet in a cage or on a leash, and pick up his waste.
