Colbert's 'Late Show' has become propaganda for Democrats
New York Post ^ | November 21, 2015 | Kyle Smith

So Stephen Colbert turns out to be just as much of an a-hole as "Stephen Colbert." Viewers have noticed.

After an initial burst of interest spurred by CBS's big-bucks saturation advertising campaign for "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," the show's ratings have tanked and it is now running third in late night behind NBC's Jimmy Fallon and ABC's Jimmy Kimmel, who rarely has managed second place before.

The reason? A survey by the Hollywood Reporter found that conservative viewers are turning off Colbert in droves. Nearly twice as many Republicans are watching Kimmel as Colbert, who has turned "Late Night" into a sort of wannabe MSNBC show.

The pattern is familiar: When a Democrat is the guest, Colbert is Barbara Walters. When a Republican is on, he turns into Tim Russert.

This is a surprise? Just watch the caustic jackass for five minutes and you’ll see what he is.

Never, ever liked Colbert.

Even Jon Stuart was fair/ made common sense every once in a while.

Colbert has always been a grade A far left “hack”.

I don’t watch any of that trash. I would have stayed up to watch Carson, but I was a working stiff back then. I could even watch Leno. But today’s crop can’t hold a candle to the pioneers of late night comedy. They are mediocre ate best, and usually have a leftist political agenda. Nothing but garbage and not worth my time.

Stephen Colbert is every liberal’s favorite faux-conservative, just like Archie Bunker was their favorite faux-bigot. It gave them a feel-good laugh, and a warm feeling deep inside, but no factual information was transmitted.

No surprise...a preening arrogant jerkwad remains a jerkwad.

I don’t like liberal self absorbed condescending comedians.

I don’t like shows where you have to be liberal to think the jokes are funny.

The 'sine qua non' of the Late Show was Johnny Carson. Everybody knew he was a liberal but he went to pains to be even-handed in his political barbs. He poked all with gentle good humor and all were willing to sit on his couch. David Letterman could not follow suit while Jay Leno did reasonably well.

It is unreasonable to expect Mr Colbert to be even-handed but that DOES NOT give him a bye. I expect him to be reflexive liberal-stupid and so he is! I have no interest in watching him and I am happy that he is losing audience. GET A CLUE CBS!

This is a new development? He always was, but eased up a bit when he started his new show. Now he’s back on track. Arrogant Narcissistic pricks are always Democrat.

His fans are the same A-hole leftist hipsters and social justice warriors that you find on college campuses making demands for “safe spaces”. and for deans to be fired.

The ones that booed Cruz on his show until he had to tell them to stop.

The thing is that they dont like that he isnt being hard-left enough, so they aren’t tuning in like they did on his other show. But by bringing in the hard-left stuff he loses viewers that aren’t looking for a propaganda program.

Colbert is a pr*ck but the one I can’t stand in the least is Seth Meyers. I’d show him to the nearest cliff.

“Everybody knew he was a liberal but he went to pains to be even-handed in his political barbs. “

That’s the thing that shows the class of the old guys. Both he and Bob Hope never gave an indication of whom they supported. It wasn’t even a thing to think about. Good satire leaves you never knowing and not even wanting to know.

It’s not like people on the right hate being poked at. We just want to see that it’s good-natured and even-handed.

Re: “Arrogant Narcissistic pricks are always Democrat.” This could apply to a Republican currently running for president, no? Note that I didn’t mention any name.
