Dallas, TX Mayor Mike Rawlings spoke Saturday on MSNBC, saying that ISIS wants the United States to "demonize" the Syrian refugees, the reason being that ISIS does not represent Islam.
"ISIS wants us to demonize these Syrian refugees, want us to alienate these children," Rawlings said. "We have got to build a coalition of Middle Eastern states and we need to reach out, they're Muslims and we have got to use the words carefully to show them that we care about them. ISIS is no more Islamic than the Nazi senior staff was Christian. so we have got to differentiate between the two."
The Democratic mayor later stated in the interview that the addition of refugees in Texas is a "serious issue," but he added that he is "more fearful" of "young white men" performing mass shootings in theaters or schools.
"I am more fearful of large gatherings of young white men that come into schools, theaters and shoot people up," he said. "But we don't isolate young white men on this issue."

The fact that he wanted to SPEAK on MSNBC is the telltale sign of where he stands.
But he's ok with Mexican gangs and Blacks shooting up the inner cities. He doesn't cross the street.

Unfortunately, I have to admit I know Mayor Rawlings (went to high school with his son).. Also unfortunately, I don’t know him nearly well enough to have any kind of way to even talk to him about any of these issues (Refugee-terrorists, MAIG, etc). Fortunately, I recently moved from a suburb into Dallas proper, so can vote against his idiot ass come next election time!

I don’t live in Dallas but I do work there 2-3 days a week. Rawlings and Clay Jenkins want to destroy the city.

I was born & raised in Dallas and have lived in the DFW Metro area all my life (other than Navy years).
I cannot recall any Dallas Mayor that wasn’t a full blown leftist liberal. Dallas is a Dem stronghold in TX, like Austin, Houston and San Antonio.
When do the recall petetions start.
Did he mention screening anyone? If not, then his statements are full of stupidity.
I will only give up my gun if the hypocritical politicians give up their secret service protection, guns, and gun toting security for themselves, children, and whatever school or institutions anyone in their family attends. What does anyone want to bet the mayor might be protected by bodyguards?
This guy is the greatest clairvoyant of our time.
He must be talking about the Beslan massacre perpetrated by the large gathering of islamic jihadists who murdered over 300 school kids. They will - of course - be classified as "white" for the purpose of assigning blame and somehow proving the point that whitey is the real threat.
What the hell has happened to Texas? How do these leftists get elected to office? Hopefully this is just in some select urban areas but it seems to be spreading like a cancer even in the great state of Texas.
