No one may ever accuse actress Kerry Washington of being merely a leftist poser in terms of abortion rights, certainly not after last night's episode of ABC's Scandal, which featured her alter-ego Olivia Pope – the show's main character – having an abortion while the beloved Christmas tune "Silent Night" played in the background.
You read that correctly. Kerry Washington and the producers of Scandal actually had the nerve to show the main character abort her and the President's baby to the tune of the most iconic song ever produced about the birth of Jesus Christ.
There really is no other way to put this story than to let out a sigh of wounded disbelief. It was bad enough that Kerry Washington wore a gold crucifix during a pro-abortion PSA back in 2012, but this makes that gesture look like Mother Theresa advertising a new hospital.
After having aborted her child, the episode concludes with Washington sipping a glass of wine while she fondly looks upon her Christmas tree just as "Ave Maria" fades over the soundtrack.
Naturally, feminists adored the episode, including Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards, who tweeted in the show's favor after it aired:
Cecile is deranged.
What? They thought “What Child Is This?” was over the top?

The irony of it all...the vast majority of abortions are black babies and here’s a black female actress relishing in portraying the act.

Amen! But it is punishable by God....on His timetable, not ours. Just when I thought that immoral, filthy and disgusting show couldn’t get any worse, they surprise me. I made the mistake of watching it once and was appalled and I don’t “appall” easily......glad I didn’t see this episode.

I have not yet watched it and won’t watch it again.
I am not a person who is stunned or amazed easily, but reading this article truly stunned me. I cannot believe that Kerry Washington, whose own baby was born about a year ago, would for a second consider being in such a scene.
It is like wrapping together in swaddling clothes, an abortion and a song that has been considered holy and revered since its conception. I have no idea what lesson it is supposed to convey, but it is like tempting fate to teach you a life lesson. Only a very vain and foolish person would push the envelope this far.
Would not want to be her if she really has to pray for something dear to her. She is really taking a leap of faith, that there isn’t a God who had to turn his face away from this scene.
I quit watching it in Season 3. Knew then it was going to get even more vile than it already was.
