The transcript shows quite a mess. First Trump avoids the registry question. Then he thinks the follow up questions are about the wall, while the reporter seems to think they are about the registry. Then Trump answers specific questions about the registry.

At some point it needs to dawn on Trump that the reporter seems to think that all the questions are about the registry.

Trump needs to clarify the record and in the future, follow the conversion and communicate better.

If Trump is in for the long haul, he needs to get focused and use specific language when he is asked these types of questions. He has to stop shooting from the hip. He must use specific subjects when the questions are left open like that.

Beat them at their own game. Precise use of the English language.

We know from the ‘debates’ that Trump frequently is not paying full attention to what others are saying. Perhaps he is preoccupied with his own points.

Islam is a religion that is dangerous to non-muslims; its members will be peaceful only if they ignore the Koran and Mohamed. So why should Rush waste a lot of time trying to show that Trump did not say what was alleged?

He does get a little sloppy at times with his language, I agree. But so far it hasn’t hurt him. Most people seem to get the gist of what he’s saying and understand the off cuff nature of the comments. In the general election, when talking to a broader audience, it could potentially be a little more problematic, but so far he’s shown an ability to deal with it effectively.

Trumps Twitter feed states that the reporter mentioned the database not himself (which is the truth). If the media can smear Trump with so much disregard for the truth, we will get Hillary for sure. Will see how Trump handles this from here on out.
