I'll say.
I would imagine the Saudis had to make a request for the US assistance, and at the time, the interests of all Sunni-Arab nations had aligned with those of Israel, in a way they never had before the Iran nuke negotiations focussed everyone's mind.
Is it possible there was a quid-pro-quo, and it involved a threat by the Sunnis to request Bibi's help in Yemen if Obama didn't help them? Israel, in my opinion, would have jumped on the opportunity. The Saudis considered Iranian influence in Yemen to be an existential problem, and the coalition was put together in a matter of days, after years of disfunction within the Arab League from which it sprang.
In other words, Bibi, you help us with Yemen, and we'll provide you with airspace and logistics to attack Iran?
And it never happened because Obama caved, and if you'll notice, so did Iran. In Yemen at least. Maybe Obama told the Iranians, and they considered it to be the lesser evil to give up on Yemen, because the Mullahs REALLY don't want the "Arab Coalition plus Israel" to become a reality.
IMPOSSIBLE SITUATION
U.S.A. needs to abolish the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 and return to the National Origins Formula which restricted immigration on the basis of existing proportions of the U.S. population.
Yes, Bush-41 much wiser than Bush-43. History proves it beyond a shadow of doubt.
Disagree. Immigration should be based on skills NEEDED in United States with an existing job offer or Bring $2 Million with you. New Zealand has such policy and has a very successful immigration program. By going to back pre-1965 immigration rules, we miss the majority of skilled people from Asia. I do not want dummies and welfare prospects coming here from Europe simply based on existing proportions.
Wage suppression is dastardly and unnecessary. Free Traitor talk.
You are wrong. Such policy has not suppressed wages in new Zealand. Because the skills needed are carefully monitored by NZ government. NZ is importing doctors, scientists, engineers. All we import here are mostly computer programmers. Unemployment in USA for doctors, scientists and engineers is near zero.
It is wise to observe actual history instead of wild and prejudicial theory.
