Gee, wouldn’t it be too bad if someone sold them a batch of tainted pills.
Seems like a perfect avenue for some western intelligence agency to use to slip some slow acting poison to all of them. Slow acting so most of them take it.

In pre-pubescent males, the effects of amphetamine and sedatives are reversed. Stimulants calm, sleeping pills gets ‘em climbing the walls.
