I would trust Honduras on this more than I would trust the US. Right now the Syrians are detained in Tegucigalpa but have not been formally charged because the US insists on “helping” with the investigation. US investigators are in Tegucigalpa at the moment trying to determine the true identities of the men and their probably intentions. Possession of false documentation is a serious crime in Honduras, and these guys would have already been to court and possibly be sitting in the national prison at Tamara if not for US intervention. The Honduran Public Minister (prosecutor) has requested a deadline of 48 hours for indictment.
