Don't 'scapegoat' Syrian refugees, Catholic bishops and evangelicals say
CNN ^ | November 18th, 2015 | By Daniel Burke

(CNN)Two of the country's largest and most influential religious groups, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and the National Association of Evangelicals, are urging the United States not to halt the resettlement of Syrian refugees after the deadly terrorist attack in Paris last Friday.

"Of course we want to keep terrorists out of our country, but let's not punish the victims of ISIS for the sins of ISIS," Leith Anderson, NAE president, said on Tuesday.

House Speaker Paul Ryan has called for a "pause" in the U.S. program accepting Syrian refugees and 30 governors have said they will not welcome them, though they have little legal authority to bar the federal government from settling refugees in their states.

Very good points raised by the Bishops, but as usual doesn’t go nearly far enough.
Obviously we need a really good questionnaire potential refugees can complete that will enable us to weed out the jihadis (and those pretending not to be) from the rest.

“Are you a terrorist?”

“No.”

“Well, ok then, welcome to the US.”

That’s your “screening.”

Create a safe zone in Syria and settle them there.

Exactly, whatever the cause is of all these refugees the U.S. military can alleviate it, they just need a strong commander.

I’ve read that the “refugees” are afraid of trees. Go
figure. Here, they’d have a heart attack with all these
forests & woodslots. House them where they’re used to the
lay of the land. Besides, Muslim areas ought to take them.
They’re their brothers.

Suddenly CNN cares about what religious leaders have to say...ignoring them on homosexual behaviour and abortion, but soooo eager to embrace them when it comes to admitting terrorists to the nation.

Gotta keep those federal dollars for resettling “refugees” flowing.

Twenty-five Americans are killed EACH DAY by a drunk driving illegal alien—or just outright murdered. Hundreds of children have died or been paralyzed from exotic viruses and bacteria. The Catholic bishops spit on all these people, or their graves.

A run down...

All refugees receive $1,800 IN CASH once they are in the U.S. ($750 goes to a resettlement agency contractor).......

A family of 6 would get $10,800 with $4,500 going to the agency. Do the math!....... that’s $75 million for ea. 100 thousand refugees quietly slipped into your community without you knowing or approving,.........

World Relief whose top executive makes hundreds of thousands of dollars each year ingratiated itself with several local religious groups in efforts to facilitate refugee resettlements................. World Relief has received $38.8 million of its $56.8 million budget (roughly 68 %, according to the 2012 data) from taxpayer funded grants.

There isn't a single place in the United States that's been able to limit the flow of refugees once World Relief opens a local office....

More than 90 % of money used by these religious charities for resettling refugees has come from federal grants.

National Association of Evangelicals - liberal leadership, evidently.

No evangelical I know supports Syrian refugees.

Another ‘false’ choice: you’re a bigot or you want the (continued) free flow of all migrants.
