Senate votes to kill Obama climate rules(WHAT?!)
americanthinker.com ^ | 11/18/2015 | Rick Moran

The battle to save the coal industry by blocking the EPA's new rules on carbon emissions switched to the Senate yesterday and resulted in a victory.

The vote - 52-46 - was largely symbolic because the president has indicated he will veto the legislation and supporters do not have anywhere near the 66 votes necessary to override Obama's action. But the fight against these rules is also happening in federal court where there is a better chance to defeat the plans of the president.

Uh, I thought maybe my new meds had me hallucinating for a second. But, as we can see, it's only symbolic for now since the lyin' king already said he'll veto it. Despite the isis/isil/is brutal attack in Paris last week, I'm still kinda hoping for a blizzard to hit around Dec 1 through 12 for the climate suckfest.

It's very good campaign fodder. They should be trying to make him veto a bill every single day until the next election.

The House needs to defund the EPA for those efforts. The Senate needs to uphold that. Suspend the government if necessary until Obama gives in. Otherwise the rest of us can party on.

We always complain that Congress should have legislation to repeal Obamacare (and other hotbutton issues) on the President’s desk every week. That we should make him veto it and defend that decision. Well, here they are doing exactly that.

What the hell?! Since when did Congress become the branch of government that needs the President’s approval to stop himself? That’t not how it works! He needs Congress’s approval for his plans!

Flashback: Obama admitted energy prices would 'skyrocket' under his policies

Michael Bastasch
06/25/2013

President Obama laid out his new plan to tackle global warming Tuesday. In 2008, he made comments about "bankrupting" coal plant owners and making energy prices "skyrocket."

"So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them, because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted," Obama said during a meeting with the San Francisco Chronicle's editorial board.

"Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad," he added. "Because I'm capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, you know, natural gas, you name it - whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to, uh, retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers." ..."

************************************************************

From Politico, April, 2012

"If somebody wants to build a coal-fired power plant, they can. It's just that it will bankrupt them," Obama said, responding to a question about his cap-and-trade plan. He later added, "Under my plan ... electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket."

Of course, cap and trade is long dead. But coal-fired power plants are powering down nationwide, and they are blaming the Obama Environmental Protection Agency. The president's critics say proposed greenhouse gas regulations for future power plants are designed to cripple the coal industry.

And just like with another 2008 quote - Energy Secretary Steven Chu's famed call to "figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe" - Republicans say the Chronicle clip shows what's really in the president's heart, that high electricity prices and the death of coal have always been Obama's goal.

Good guess....:^)

From the WSJ

Sens. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) joined Heitkamp to buck their party and vote for the resolutions.

Send. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) voted with the Democrats against the measures.

****

What’s important is that the Republicans are not falling for the junk science behind global warming. Accept the junk science, and you lose the war.

Make Obama own it by his veto.

Make the Democrats own it with sustaining Obamas veto.

No matter that it fails.

Ayotte sure turned out to be a Trojan horse. She got in because of all the Tea Party support, but immediately turned left.
