Dalai Lama says God will not help us in the wake of ISIS Paris attack because 'humans have created this problem and we cannot solve it through prayers'

Spiritual leader said there was 'no basis or justification for killing others' Said rise of suicide bombings could not be countered 'only through prayer' 80-year-old spoke out after terrorists murdered 129 people in Paris attacks

The Tibetan spiritual leader said the rise of suicide bombings could not be countered 'only through prayers' and described the terrorists as 'short-sighted'.

He spoke out after extremists went on the rampage through Paris in an attack which included suicide bombs at the Stade de France, mass shootings at bars and restaurants and the slaughter of 89 music fans at the Bataclan theatre.

The 80-year-old told DW: 'We cannot solve this problem only through prayers. I am a Buddhist and I believe in praying. But humans have created this problem, and now we are asking God to solve it. It is illogical. God would say, solve it yourself because you created it in the first place.

'We need a systematic approach to foster humanistic values, of oneness and harmony. If we start doing it now, there is hope that this century will be different from the previous one. It is in everybody's interest.

So let us work for peace within our families and society, and not expect help from God, Buddha or the governments.'

The Buddhist, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989, said that if 'serious attempts' were not made to achieve peace, 'we will continue to see a replay of the mayhem humanity experienced in the 20th century'.

He described the terrorists as 'short-sighted' adding that there was 'no basis or justification for killing others'.

I don't think it's the terrorists that are short-sighted here...

I’m totally pissed I didn’t get an invitation to the Dalai Lama’s bar mitzvah!

God doesn’t pass out miracles like happy meals.

This isn’t going to go away with prayers, but it doesn’t hurt.

You can get much farther with a prayer and a gun than you can with a prayer alone

Tibetan Buddhism has too much of a religious theme. I prefer the more stoic Zen Buddhism.

Just a different flavor of demonic possession between Tibetian and Zen Buddhism. One is so demonically possessed, they levitate.

But on our deathbed, we’ll receive total consciousness, so we’ll have that going for us.

In one of his book-length interviews, JPII made the remark that Buddhism is atheist. Or, at least, not theistic.

Reporters scurried to the Dalai Lama, thinking they had a nice scandal to report. The Dalai Lama said, “The Pope is correct.”

So why is the Dalai Lama talking about God now?

The one-l lama,
He’s a priest.
The two-l llama,
He’s a beast.
And I will bet
A silk pajama
There isn’t any
Three-l lllama.*

JFK said in January '60 on earth God's work must be our own. Working for peace requires tools--and the ammo they require. There is a 1400-year-old Mansonesque death cult which poses an existential threat. Its current incarnation has new uniforms and vehicles and its leader escaped the dragnet--much like El Chapo. Headquarters located: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
