No wonder the Muslim world laughs at us. A country that destroyed Japan and Germany has descended to a nation where the headlines now claim the biggest fight in our time is what we call mentally ill people that want to chop off their body parts and hiding a confederate flag.
I teach some adult basic education classes. Recently when starting a new class, two female students came in early to see if they were in the right place. I asked them their names and checked my class list. One of the names appeared to me to be a man’s name, but it was a foreign name, so what do I know. This person appeared to be a cute young girl. This person was feminine, had what I considered to be a woman’s hairstyle, was wearing girl jeans and a women’s top and women’s jewelry, and had on eye makeup and lip gloss.
Since they were there considerably early, they left and said they would be right back. Only one of them came back — not the one I just described. I asked her about her friend, if “she” was coming back. She corrected me. “He. He will be coming back.”
I was confused a bit, but my confusion was removed when I noticed that, going by the chestal area, this person was definitely a male.
So I refer to this person with masculine pronouns and there has never been an issue since. I don’t teach at a fancy university, though, and I guess that such a simple, common-sense solution would not be worthy of a fancy university.

I will call that my "Progressive" description, and stealing that line with the change of one word.
