Aaron Allmon verdict deals blow to military’s high-profile attack on sex-related offenses

MINOT Air Force Base, North Dakota -- As Air Force missions go, the prosecution of Tech. Sgt. Aaron D. Allmon II on explosive sexual-harassment charges ran into turbulence and wound up in a nosedive.

Despite facing up to 130 years in prison in the early stages of the case, Sgt. Allmon was sentenced Saturday to just 30 days behind bars after a judge found him not guilty of the most devastating charges against him, including assault consummated by a battery and threats against co-workers.

Judge Tiffany Wagner did find him guilty of maltreatment of two female service members and making a false official statement. Prosecutors then pushed for a bad-conduct discharge and reduction of rank to senior airman. The judge refused and instead docked him one stripe.

The outcome represented a blow to the military's high-profile attack on sex-related offenses, a campaign aimed at improving safety and professionalism in the workplace that has come under fire for spurring a climate in which seemingly innocuous interactions can balloon into criminal offenses.

"While the verdict was not what we had hoped for, it nevertheless stands as a strong rebuke to those who have violated their sacred oath to seek justice and fairness for all service members," said Jeffrey F. Addicott, a retired Army officer and a member of Sgt. Allmon's defense team.

One service member said he made her "feel like an object" by disagreeing with her lesbian lifestyle and that she was "trapped in a living hell." Another said he "ruined" her first year in the military by calling her lazy and refusing to put her up for awards.

Don't know a thing about this case but it went to a General courts-martial. Does anyone remember deserter Beau Bergdahl who is most unlikely going to a General C-M and his parents at the WH with 0bama?

This sounds like a bad joke. I can’t even remember what all N.C.O.s said to me in my first year, that “hurt my little feelings”. Give the stupid lesbian a participation trophy and boot her sorry a$$ out of the military and give the “offender” his TSGT. rank back, better yet, promote him to MSGT.

I just got back from three weeks in Germany where I had the opportunity to see/hear a lot of broadcasts on the Armed Forces Network (AFN) news channels. AFN re-broadcast a lot of state side news shows including FOX, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, and ABC. But instead of paid advertising commercials, AFN plays a series of public service spots for military personnel and their families. I also saw a lot of the information posted in the hallway billboards. These spots and posters address many aspects of military life from command directives to entertainment to services available soldiers and their families. But if you watch and read enough of them, you will come to the conclusion America’s service members are a bunch of alcoholic, gambling-addicted, sexual harassing wife beaters with PTSD who can’t balance there check books. Perhaps his accusers saw too many of these types of service announcements on AFN and the bulletin boards in their office hallways.

Looks like 0bama’s influence has indeed filtered down through the chain of command to include AFN parroting the MSM. Having a decent CinC again can’t come soon enough, let’s pray it happens this coming election because it’ll take time to turn the damage around that the current one has been able to inflict.
