Taking population into account, I still figure roughly equal to 800? Assuming 160 was the final number.
That’s pretty high.
But if you include those who have or will die of cancer from 9/11, we are well into 5000+. I know one personally and many others through acquaintances. Many first responders and those who worked cleaning the disaster up.
The financial devastation and symbolic devastation was far worse here also.
I see your point. On the other hand, sometimes disseminating talking points among the ‘converted’ zealots is important, to aid in propagating the propaganda.

As some wag put it: “Contained in Paris, Berlin, and Vienna!”
Is Obama still telling us not to rush to judgment as we’re not yet certain who may have done this?
