Not that surprised you haven't heard about Calais and the migrant camp although it's been big news in this country specially as it's created chaos on this side of the Channel and cost millions with trucks backed up for miles on the motorway approach to Dover.
It's nick-name is the Jungle and well named, the French have pulled down at least two camps but they keep coming back and at the moment there is anywhere between 6,000 to 10,000 immigrants who want to come to the UK.
We have British immigration in Calais, this was to speed the crossing for passengers, now it's more to keep the illegal immigrants out. France on the other hand don't really care, they would be quite happy for the immigrants to be somewhere else.
They were getting on the backs of lorries, sitting on the axles anything to get across. The drivers got fined £2,000 for every immigrant found in their truck, so they introduced more checks in the port.
The French ferry workers went on strike and invaded and blockaded the tunnel which up to then no one had worried about. Anyway the immigrants soon cottoned on to jumping on trains instead of lorries was actually easier now the port had tightened up with more checks to the trucks as they came into the port.
There were still the odd incident at the port like when the crew of one ship had to fight off about 100 immigrants fighting to get on board. But mostly they concentrated on breaking into the tunnel area, which is a massive area at the time ringed by a light fence. About one a week has been killed so far this year falling off or going under the trains.
Then the speculation started how long before someone puts a bomb in the tunnel, so the authorities spent millions and put up the perimeter security fence.
The immigrants now are not finding it easy to get to the UK and have started being violent with riots over the last three nights in Calais, with the French police using tear-gas to stop the riots.
Britain's attitude is refugees should apply for sanctuary in the first safe country, which is usually Greece or Italy, 1,000 miles before they get to Calais and the rest mostly economic migrants are not allowed.
But all we hear from our elected representatives is that multi-culturalism is good and brings so many benefits for the country, they also usually forget to tell you that schools, housing, The National Health Service, Jails are all having problems coping.
For Europe I think it's already too late, they ones here are out breeding us, so even if no more come in we will still become a third world muslim country some time in the future. But there is a anger building up in this country over immigration and will be the main controversy when we get a referendum on staying or leaving European Union.
