Pentagon chief Ashton Carter just fired his top military aide over ‘misconduct’

Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter has fired his top military aide for allegations of “misconduct,” a highly unusual move prior to a formal investigation into possible misbehavior by the Army general.

In a statement, Carter said that he had removed Lt. Gen. Ron Lewis from his position as senior military assistant. As his top military aide, Lewis was a right-hand advisor to Carter, providing him analysis on military issues, joining him at high-level meetings, and traveling with him on overseas missions.

Carter said the Pentagon’s Inspector General would investigate the allegations against Lewis and, if necessary, the Army would take action.

“I expect the highest possible standards of conduct from the men and women in this department, particularly from those serving in the most senior positions,” Carter said. “There is no exception.”

“I trust them to do the right thing , if the wrong things seem about to happen .”

Where were those people when the IRS and many other
government agencies, even congress, were throwing the
election for the Obama? Don’t count on it. Clinton
filled the ranks with fellow travelers, Bush left them
in even helping them with Roberts and the Obama has
finished the job. I do believe that we have a military that
will fire on the American public.

Stephanie Carter, Ashton’s wife, just kept a frozen, vacant stare throughout the entire creepy and inappropriate ordeal.

Not exactly vacant, her expression said "I want to kick this guy in the b***s, but that would cause more trouble than it's worth".

The powers that be needed to take down a conservative black man who was rising too high. Especially from Chicago, which made it personal and thus “abrupt”.

The first step to summarily executing your neighbors, brothers, fellow Americans is to depersonalize them. That has already been done... By naming anyone who even thinks there is no .. Fill in the commie crisis here.. domestic terrorists. After that.. There is no turning back, they are using swat teams to enter homes, guitar factories... They are using the IRS, EPA... How about that rancher in Texas?
History shows you are wrong, hundreds of civil wars, including ours, the Jews in Germany. If you don’t think some evil masterminds aren’t studying the progression of all these events in order to make a plan... Well they are, they are talking about forced birth control, shutting down rural roads in conservative, places.. I am thinking they are doing that in high plains country.

The US military was brutal in its war against the civilian population of the southern states during the Civil War. It was brutal in suppressing native Americans after the war.

The armed forces will shoot the public if so ordered by the regime in power as will the federal police. Waco, Kent State, and Ruby Ridge demonstate the federal government will use extraordinary force against citizens and the armed agents of government will follow orders. Furthermore the local citizens in a community will not respond to government violence with force, and federal agents will not refuse orders to attack civilians.

If tomorrow night the government conducted raids across the country to round up and hold as terrorists the posters to this and other conservative websites, the action would not spark armed resistance by the general population. In addition if a group of armed conservatives were to hole up, and resist arrest, the army would fire on those citizens if ordered to do so, even if no shots had been fired.

“Probably caught him reading the Bible.”

Ummm, no. A summary personal misconduct discharge usually happens in cases of highly indiscreet behavior such as open adultery, rape, etc.

So what makes you think anything is "usual" in our armed forces right now, given their chain of command?

“Objected to the gay agenda, no doubt.”

Yeah, what usually does these guys in is having sex with one of their aides. If this should indeed be his offense, we’ll probably learn that it was a women. Had it been a man he would have been promoted to Chief of Staff.

Whle I agree with he basic premise of your post, i think the dynamics have changed a little bit. The events that took plkce at the Bundy ranch a couple of years ago would not have taken place in the past. The “army of hunters” people like talking about won’t materialize; there are those, though, that are fed up with the course this country is taking, and realize that armed resitence may be our only recourse. All it will take is a Charlston Harbour moment, and things will go from rhetoric to action very quickly. The question is, who wins the info war after tnat moment and draws the populace to their side?
