In One Quote, Jennifer Lawrence Sums Up Why She'll Never Be a Republican
Yahoo News ^ | November 12, 2015 | Liz Rowley

In a new Vogue feature, Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence described the reason behind her political affiliation, including why she doesn't support the Republican Party. And the Hunger Games star's logic is simple.

"I was raised a Republican, but I just can't imagine supporting a party that doesn't support women's basic rights," Lawrence told Vogue. Many of the Republican presidential hopefuls have identified as pro-life. Some have advocated for defunding Planned Parenthood, which offers reproductive health services to women.

"It's 2015 and gay people can get married and we think that we've come so far, so, yay! But have we? I don't want to stay quiet about that stuff," Lawrence told Vogue.

In the profile, published Thursday and which will serve as Vogue's December cover story, gives readers a look inside Lawrence's mind. In the feature, penned by Jonathan Van Meter, Lawrence talks shop, dishes about her celebrity peers, ruminates on her meteoric rise from her childhood on Kentucky farms and to topping a Forbes list as the world's highest-paid actress. Lawrence also got candid about her love life — which is currently devoid of romance, she said.

One of the occasions on which Van Meter met with Lawrence happened to coincide with the day Kim Davis was released from jail, on Sept. 8. The notorious Kentucky country clerk was detained after she refused to administer marriage licenses to same-sex couples despite the Supreme Court's June vote that ultimately legalized same-sex marriage across the United States.

Lawrence said Davis was a "lady who makes me embarrassed to be from Kentucky."

"Don't even say her name in this house, all those people holding their crucifixes, which may as well be pitchforks, thinking they're fighting the good fight," Lawrence told Vogue. "I grew up in Kentucky. I know how they are."

Ok, I know a lot of you are very old.

I know a lot of you think that Hollywood starlets used to be so pretty and nice. They were not.

But, even you old folks should know who the most popular stars are today. It basic pop culture awareness. If you don’t take a minimal approach to keeping up, you will be dispatched to the dustbins of life.

It’s this attitude that keeps your grandkids from visiting,

New Headline:

Jennifer Lawrence SUPPORTS the harvesting of aborted baby parts for money.

The Oscar winning actress hasn’t disclosed how much she is willing to spend of her own money to support Planned Parenthood and the “Cash for Parts” business they have been engaged in. Asked if she were ever a fetus at 3, 6, and 8 months of age Lawrence replied: “I never thought about it.”
Brave stuff from this sassy star!

No she didn’t post those herself. Those were leaked by all the Casting Directors that had hired her in the past.

I wonder if she realizes the Hunger Games stories are about a world absolutely run by liberals and she plays the part of the exiled conservative?

Dear Mx Lawrence:

Plainly stated, you object to the Republican party’s platform against infanticide. Right?

MX. Lawrence, you may see the “Hunger Games” in real life one day because of your position.

Very humorous post.

If my grandchildren judged me by my knowledge of pop stars and pop culture I would be glad that they didn’t visit.

Lucky for me they aren’t that shallow.

Sorry.....Who’s Jennifer Lawrence?

And why do I need to know what her opinions are? Is she important or something?

I think she's an attractive young lady and a good actress, but I'm not all that concerned about what her opinions are. Actors are probably the flakiest flaky people one will ever meet. They are essentially blank slates that appear to have substance because the roles they play have substance. There are probably a few intelligent actors, but most are idiots.

The intelligent ones are conservatives.

I know. When I read the books, I wondered if these fans understood the story, or even if the writer did. And a lot of apocalyptic stories are anti-authoritarian. Walking Dead is conservative. It’s about the Fall, and original sin—just like Breaking Bad was a Faust story. All this excellent right wing entertainment, and the nitwit actors don’t even know it.

yeah, so much better to back a party that allows tiny little girls (women) to be dismembered and their body parts sold at a profit...makes sense to me.

Like what - the basic right to keep their legs together once in while?
