Krauthammer’s Take: Trump, Carson, Cruz, Rubio Will Be GOP’s ‘Final Four’
National Review ^ | 11/11/2015 | NR Staff

Posted on 11/12/2015 4:52:13 AM PST by Servant of the Cross

Sen. Rand Paul had his best night in Tuesday's Republican primary debate, but it won't be enough to alter his fortunes, Charles Krauthammer said tonight on Fox News's Special Report.

"I give him points for courage and candor," Krauthammer said. "I mean his sort of isolationism is not a popular strain, but he went with it."

Nonetheless, "I don't think anybody really changes his or her fortunes."Instead, he predicted how things will shake out from here: "If you look at the stage, you saw the two wings, you had Rand Paul and you had Kasich, who you could just see falling through a trap door. And then you have Carly Fiorina and Jeb, who I think are also rather tentative."

"And then you look in the center and you saw the final four," he continued. Meaning, Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio.

“Rubio cruising to victory.”.......

The only cruising I see Rubio doing is him driving back to Florida to sell more used cars. His sales pitch doesn’t excite me one bit, in my imagination I see him on late night TV selling used cars.

I could not agree more. Ted Cruz is really the candidate real conservatives have been dreaming of for years. And we have always said “Man if we could just get a real conservative nominated we would win it all and things would begin to turn” now we have just that and many are fooled by trump and carson. Rubio is jus GOP-e and alway will be.

“It’s important Jeb continue to split the RINO vote until Florida which is winner take all is over.”

Agreed. Seriously considering writing him ‘atta boy’ encouragements and helpful suggestions, like cutting a rap video where he sets out his immigration policies.

Me neither. But I’ve felt that way about numerous Democrat and GOP nominees.

And if Rubio is the only GOPe alternative in a crowd of more conservatively perceived candidates, he will win.

I can support Trump or Cruz. Hard to say where most of the Carson votes will go but more for Cruz than Trump. Same for Paul though some will not vote.
Rubio will wind up with most of the GOPe voters from Bush, Fiorina, Christie, Kasich.

My fear is still the GOPe strategy of either a GOPe win outright in the later primaries or it going to the convention and them stealing the nomination for Rubio or perish the thought bring in Romney as the “compromise” candidate.

I’m a Cruz guy, but I could stand Donald.

Trump is a populist, a loose canon on deck.

But the “deck” is Washington D.C.

What in Washington D.C. is so dear to you that you are concerned it will be crushed by a populist?

Yeah, and Trump will win on the first ballot and choose Cruz or Carson as his Vice President.

In the general election, the biggest problem Trump will face will be widespread, aggressive voter fraud. I'm sure he has a plan to deal with it. He had better have one, because it's going to be ruthless!

I believe Trump is pretending to be a populist conservative when his whole history shows he is a far left social Liberal and a big government crony capitalist.

I agree about Carson, but I think Rubio is the GOPe go-to guy now.

Watch for his poll numbers to rise as they quit gaming Carson’s numbers.

What other choice do they have?

Rubio doesn’t wear well. He talks to fast and acts like he is reading cue cards.

Yep, time for the debates to be these four and the rest can be on the early card.

“Trump and Cruz are both polling very poorly against Hillary. Carson is beating her easily and Rubio is ahead as well.”
______________________________________________________________________________

Don’t trust these polls...they are tools for the MSM to shape opinions, making the Hildabeast inevitable. Cruz can overcome all the slime when he mops the floor with Hildy in 3 debates, doing it with eloquence, charm, and a smile on his face.

Actually you are the one who talks like a Democrat!

The fact that Trump is beating the American people over the head on illegal immigration? Deportation of 11 million of them? Destroying NAFTA, Rebuilding the Military, honoring our Vets, protecting everything in the Bill of Rights, if all this sounds like a Democrat platform, then ill gladly swithch party’s! And he is the only one who will smash Hilary. He gots the money, brains, energy, ferocity, and popularity from a wide spectrum of voters. And he will do a better job as President than any other candidate. I like Cruz but he seems to ineffective in getting things done in Washington. Yes he tries and tries but never seems to persuade anyone. I dont beleive Trump will have this problem. I mean, even if you boil it down to believing that money is the root of all motivation in Washington (which is 100 percent true)....whos got the most money?

The names of TRUMP and CRUZ more than likely were stuck in the throat of the esteemed Doctor and had more difficultly seeing the light of day. Dr. K..you are not seen as the man you once were. Your inner self has come thru.
