Trump is a true executive and he recognizes talent and smarts. Little wonder he would like Cruz.

answered better by Carson, who pointed out that higher minimum wage results in higher unemployment, particularly for the unskilled.

BINGO!

I wouldn’t call that “awful.” It was one reason why the minimum wage is bad but I think Carson’s answer as better.

Carly is ready to go to war with Putin in Russia.

I guess she has a nuclear bunker that she can go hide?

Make no mistake Carly is an Establishment loser.

Oh and she would lose to Hillary.

That is why it will be so hard to get rid of the IRS and is pie in the sky. Too many need the depreciation and write=offs. They are used to thinking and planning with expenses.

Depreciation is always changing. Sometimes as a stimulant you can write a whole year in equipment in one year. I used to do taxes. Mine is so complicated I could do it but it isn't worth it. I have to check but it's nice to have tax programs do the math and have somebody's name signed besides your own.

None of them sounds like they have really thought the whole IRS thing through. Like why aren't they asked abolish 5 departments (good), what are they planning to do about all the lost jobs (probably millions - bad)?

I'm ok with corporate tax rate at 10% but don't think we have to have at least 15% personal. Those of us who pay fed and one or two states, that can add up. They aren't talking about inheritance taxes, gift exclusions, so many things people have all their finances planned around. I'm saying there's a whole heck of a lot more taxes and taxing entities for just income than a simple fed flat tax.

Maybe they should have left well enough alone and gone for the can't remember the number, think it was 20K new hires for Obamacare. Get rid of those. End the corruption and using the IRS as an attack dogl against enemies.

Going after enemies wouldn't necessarily stop with a flat tax. Did you hear Carson talking about what they did to him? If we are to believe him, I will give him the benefit of most of any doubt. First they were going to audit him for the most recent year, then when they didn't find anything, 3 years. When they kept not finding anything, they kept going back further. He said he was targeted (I may not have the intervals right but you get the jist of it). It sounds like they were after orders to get something on him.

They were all stiff and stuck to strict, rehearsed talking points from their political operatives.

They were much better in the interviews after the debate. They could be themselves.

It reminds me of Bob Dole after the 96 election. He went on Saturday night live and acted like a normal person. People said I would have voted for him.

For want of a nail, a kingdom was lost. It’s got to stop somewhere. The first dollar saved is the right path to take.

Drip, drip, drip. Before you know it, a lake is there.

So how much is .00005% percent of the Defense budget, and how much .223 FMJ rounds can it buy?

Bet a lot.

Cruz said he envisions shifting the tracking and collection of federal taxes to “some much smaller division” of the Treasury Department. The senator said that replacing the current, complex tax code with a simple flat tax would eliminate most of the work the IRS needs to do, making the agency obsolete and “irrelevant.”

In its purest form, a “flat tax” treats all taxpayers equally. Income is taxed at the same rate regardless of earnings or wealth, while allowing for no tax deductions or exemptions. But Cruz said his flat tax proposal might allow some deductions, possibly for popular write-offs like for charitable donations and mortgage interest charged on a primary residence, paid annually by homeowners.

Trump’s wrong on this one.

I understand your point about the flat tax being fairer and I find it interesting that, as a wealthy man, he's okay with paying a higher rate.

From a strategic standpoint, it disarms the masses who are already thinking the rich are screwing them. It takes one less weapon away from the Democrats. It's the way I read it.

Ditto for Putin.

Trump said they were buddies in the green room when both were on 60 minutes.

I must be the only one on the forum who thought Jebbie improved tonight. Maybe it was just fear that he will rise again to be the third Bush nominee.
