Movie tickets, Costco and grocery store runs, Walt Disney World trips, flowers and flights for his wife –- those are some of the charges listed in two years of statements for Marco Rubio’s American Express card issued by the Republican Party of Florida.

The charges -- which have surfaced along with questions about his personal finances as an issue for the GOP candidate in the 2016 campaign -- are listed in two years (2007-'08) of statements obtained by ABC News that have been widely circulated in Florida political circles since Rubio ran for Senate in 2010. The Rubio campaign plans soon to release the records for the two other years (2005-'06) he had the card.

why isn’t this a problem to be handled by the Republican Party of Florida?

So when a person makes a donation to the GOP we can expect someone like Rubio to use his GOP charge card for things like movies, grocery store and flowers for his wife? Trump will be all over this.

Rubio made notes on what he spent on personal expenses, and reimbursed the GOP in full every month when the bill came in. It doesn’t sound very scandalous to me.

"Each time, I identified the charges and paid the costs myself, directly to American Express," he wrote. "The Republican Party of Florida didn’t pay a single one of them." Rubio’s campaign has said meals and hotel expenses were all related to Republican party business, including the trips to Walt Disney World, where his campaign said the Republican Party of Florida held most of its fundraisers.
In other words, a total non-story

Why doesn’t the story include the fact that Rubio wrote personal checks to cover those personal expenses every month?

Would Jebbites still run the FL GOP—and so would this be their way of ‘handling’ it?

It was. These charges were paid by Rubio. If they didn't have a problem with it why should anyone else? Paid at the end of the month. Check out by an ethics panel. No problem. Not taxpayer money.

Thank you for answering my question before I asked it. That really does make this a non-issue. Do you have a source though?

Not a nonstory at all. How long before he paid back? Did exposure force the issue? How about interest paid, since he was buying on credit?

Because, if they did, the “story” would be seen as the non-story it actually is.

Rubio has a GREAT LIFE STORY (even if proven to be ‘embellished’ a bit)...so he can use credit cards ANY WAY HE WISHES, because of his GREAT LIFE STORY (even if proven to be ‘embellished’ a bit).

If I tried the same, I WOULD BE FIRED, as my life story (even if I ‘embellished’ a bit) could still not hold a candle to Rubio’s.

Therefore I will SIMPLY IGNORE his attempt in 2013 to transform this country into a permanent DEMOCRAT MAJORITY because of his GREAT LIFE STORY (even if proven to be ‘embellished’ a bit)...for his GREAT LIFE STORY (even if proven to be ‘embellished’ a bit) is MUCH MORE important to me.

...or at least that approach seems to be working with Rush, and lots of people here (sadly).

Why should “no-show”-Rubio get any money?

HE DOES NOT SHOW UP TO VOTE.

Sorry but he didn't reimburse the GOP. He said he paid it directly to AMEX and has not produced any records to prove it.

There are also serious questions about political action committees he set up with most of the money donated going to "expenses" and salaries (including family members) with very little going to the candidates.

Give a minute and I will see if I can find the link for the document of research.

First, let state that I am not a Rubio supporter.
Now, if the Florida GOP was ok with the way Rubio used the credit card it gave him, why has this become an issue?

So, he has a record of the reimbursement transactions?

It sounds a lot Ollie co-mingling of funds, a big no-no.

“Rubio made notes on what he spent on personal expenses, and reimbursed the GOP in full every month when the bill came in. It doesn’t sound very scandalous to me.”

Exactly..plus the fact this was publicized and dealt with five years ago. Barring some new revelation, this is a nonexistent problem.

He said he paid the credit card company; not the GOP. He also has not produced documents proving he paid.

He should have used his own credit card for his personal items and the GOP card for GOP business items. That way there would be no problem. He chose not to do that and in politics that is probably not a wise move on his part.

Because Rubio has not produced proof that he paid them.
