CHICAGO -- Police say a 9-year-old Chicago boy was lured into an alley and killed in apparent gang-related retaliation, reports CBS News' Dean Reynolds.
Tyshawn Lee, a fourth-grader, was shot in the head and back Monday afternoon near his grandmother's house in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

Superintendent of Police Garry McCarthy said at a press conference at the murder scene Thursday it was the most "abhorrent, cowardly, unfathomable crime" in his 35 years of police work.
He said Tyshawn was on his way to his grandmother's on Monday afternoon when he joined others in the alley near her house. That's when the boy was swept into a bloody feud involving two rival factions of the same gang. His execution was the latest in a series of vengeful assaults going back months.

They are not the children you think. Having lived in two ghetto areas and getting to know the locals very well; many children I knew this old were already gang associates out committing crimes (not usually formally jumped in at this age, but still cold, callous, and capable of killing without remorse) and beyond redemption. They often serve as lookouts, mules, “hold” weapons for older bangers, and run the streets with the gang, by 11-13 they will be murdering and robbing themselves... He might have been targeted because of his father, or he might have earned it himself (e.g. mule trying to sell drugs himself, etc.).

I can’t even tell you what he said because you can’t say it on TV. But he made it emphatically clear that he’s not cooperating with us.” . . . “The police readily acknowledge that fear of retaliation is keeping many people from coming forward with information.”
As long as the residents in the city’s South Side and West Side ghettoes continue to hate the cops more than they hate the gangs, this kind of stuff will keep on happening, no matter what people like Pfleger and Tarentino flap their jaws about.
Anybody else notice that CNN is literally non-stop with “gun violence” stories as of late?
