FLINT, MI -- The Michigan chapter of Al Sharpton's National Action Network says the state needs to set up a special court to hear criminal cases against juveniles who may have been poisoned by lead contaminants in Flint water.

"All juvenile offenders arrested, charged or incarcerated in Genesee County that may have consumed Flint water during the period of lead contamination should be tested for lead content in their blood," Sam Riddle, state political director of Michigan NAN, said in a news release.

Go to Chicago and they can get lead poisoning. I am sure Detroit has more than their fare share.

My parents still live in Flint in the house we grew up in. They complained, just before the lead problem was discovered, about their short term memory was slipping. They thought it was just their old age. Fortunately they move to NC during the winter months. We are hoping that they don't go back to Flint in the spring.

Flint was a great town when I was growing up. It is all a dang shame.

Gennessee County. A whole county named for a cream ale and he’s drinking the tap water?

Fortunately when I lived in the Flint area I had well water. It was light brown in color, and tasted like a rusty nail. But no lead to speak of.

A lot of those communities draw their drinking water out of Lake Huron and it is really excellent.

I did a search on the address...to see what the neighborhood looked like and it really broke my heart.

Sample them. If a significant number have lead in their system then test the all. And if lead can cause aberrant behavior then the court should take that into consideration.

My folks house cost 11,000 and in the 90s it was up to 80,000. Now it is probably 5,000 also.

Shoulda sold in the 90s.
