NBC/WSJ Poll: Carson Surges Into Lead of National GOP Race

Ben Carson has surged into the lead of the Republican presidential race, getting support from 29 percent of GOP primary voters, according to a brand-new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

That's the highest percentage any GOP candidate has obtained so far in the survey.

Carson's 29 percent is followed by Donald Trump at 23 percent, Marco Rubio at 11 percent, Ted Cruz at 10 percent and Jeb Bush at 8 percent. These findings are similar to a New York Times/CBS poll released last week, which also showed Carson in first place in the national GOP contest.

Now, a few months later, he says he wants to require employers to pay H-1B workers much more money,

This has more to do with you apparently not following Trump's rallies nor reading his immigration plan. His immigration plan wasn't published "a few months later" saying these things (as well as an American workers first policy). It said them from the beginning, and Trump, from the beginning, has stated in tons of rallies, not just over the summer, that he wants high end immigrants who attend our universities to not be thrown out. You might claim that these two consistent positions contradict each other, but, not really.

It's about picking and choosing what kind of immigrants we want, and yet still prioritizing American workers. It is not a war to kick out even the legal immigrants.

I just have to think back to 9/11/2001 to know who the enemy are... and they are not the SDA. I say this as an LCMS Elder.

Tell that to the Church Lady brigade, who are voting purely on religion, and not for any other matter. Every Carson supporter I have had the misfortune of meeting in the abyss of the internet always tells me how great Carson's character is. But ask them about amnesty, ask them about taxes, and these freaking clowns ain't got a clue.

From the 60s on, foreign nationals at universities were running around like ants, mostly in accounting, engineering and the hard sciences.

Now, they’ve run off with our nuclear crown jewels, courtesy of Clinton and 0bama. And, the big research $$ has gone to Asia, with quiet pockets of $$ remaining here.

I am absolutely terrified for people coming of age now. Frankly, had I any children that age, were they not going to drive toward being in DevGru if at all possible, I’d tell them to learn Mandarin and go to Hong Kong or someplace the other side of Bora Bora. The people I hear about making really good legitimate $$ in the world now are right next to the commodity-which is often a very dangerous place to be.

No racist talk from me. Carson is a girly man, a pacifist that would never go to war. And like I said he freely admits telling women who wanted to abort their children what doctor to go see. He sees nothing wrong with it. And people still think he’s pro-life, because well, he says he is so that makes it so for the dumbed-down.

And don’t forget to ask them about the NOI and how wonderful having Farrakhan’s people as security is.

Santorum had a 12 year track record with a sound overall conservative record,

Pffft, but without actually selling a platform in the primaries, but just his religious persona instead and his sweater vest, Santorum was going nowhere. Santorum even mocked the good ideas of his opponents just because they had them, while the freaking clown rarely uttered a word about his own positions in interviews or rallies.

But as for Santorum's vaunted conservative record, he has tons of problems with that claim too.

He ran a lousy campaign and didn't show for either New Hampshire or Iowa.

This isn't actually true since Gingrich was leading early on in Iowa and New Hampshire before he won in I think South Carolina. Newt was ganged up on by Romney and Santorum, as well as by the establishment with the help of Matt Drudge and his gay buddy on Team Mitt. There was millions of dollars spent on attack ads, much of it factually untrue, and fake planted stories, which your boy Santorum happily helped along.

That's why Santorum and the GOPe need to be destroyed. No more playing nice with these guys.

And Gingrich is likeable?! Just because you personally are turned off by Santorum and are okay with Gingrich doesn't mean that a plurality share your tastes or opinions,

When it comes down to it, it's not about voting for someone you find to be the nicest person. It's about voting on substance. On a substantial level, Newt was way ahead, every time.

Same here, come to think of it. I’ve never met a Carson supporter.

Usually these liberal pollsters who do these national polls can be and are being very selective about who they poll. As I understand it in this particular one they only polled 400 people nationwide, which is an average of 8 people polled per state. Many state polls have 400 people polled or more. NBC/WSJ could have skipped states in the South or wherever that they believe won’t get them to their desired outcome and poll the areas that do. A pollster may know people about how they’ll vote where they could re-poll those same people again. Countless ways they could have skewed this poll and still call it a “legit” poll, but it will still be a dishonest poll.

It’s a Rupert Murdock poll. Is there any doubt that Murdock’s Fox mouthpiece ME-Gyn Kelly is reporting this with glee?

I can’t find where NBC has a link to the internals/methodology. Anybody have a link?

Santoram is one of these guys that only seemed to talk about Jesus when he was running for President. I remember seeing him trash Sarah Palin on Fox, and he did everything he could to keep Toomy out of the Senate

Now he is this I love Jesus guy

If Carson’s 29 is added to Jebbie’s 8, then Jebbie wins with 37. Just part of Jebbie’s popular “common core”.

I’ve looked over the Internet several times looking for Carson rally pics. I’ve only seen two substantial crowds for Carson. One in a very populous area of Anaheim, CA in the 1.5 to 2k range, and the other in Little Rock, AR with about the same number. I don’t count Iowa since most people there were because of their state fair.

The Rasmussen poll from this past Friday which shows Trump 31% to 20% for Carson is not being mentioned on Fox and not being used by Real Clear Politics for their averaging of polls. Inspite of it being a poll of 1,000 republican voters, versus 400 for the new NBC poll. That should tell anyone it’s not legit. Trump is also leading Carson in all states except Iowa, which is never mentioned on Fox when discussing polls, which is strange because those are the ones that matter.

Fox has a bad habit in the prime time of skipping polls that favor Trump, which is about most of them except for Hannity who does report them. They mostly follow Murdock and the GOPE wishes. It looks like Trump still has Carson beat in Iowa. See the latest two IA polls under this one in Breaking News.

And yeah, I know Trump is kicking Carson all over the place. I’ve written about 10 plus states that Trump is beating Carson all over this thread several times. I’m all over it. ;-)
