Reports that I've read stated the plane was less than 60km from the airport it took off from. At 725-885kph, that's what, 5-10 minutes after takeoff? I don't fly that much anymore myself but IIRC it took more than 5-10 minutes to reach 31,000 feet.
Something's not adding up here.
Most likely caused by a bomb or rocket .JMHO!
When we lived in Minnesota, our next door neighbor was a pilot/executive ay Northwest Airlines. He bought some of the first A-320s the airlines used.

Sometimes when you press the volume and the live tv channel on your seat back monitor at the same time, it causes the fuselage to crumble.
I am not sure what Putin would do!!! Why? Because I think ISIS got it’s hands on American weapons, tons of them, including grpound to air missiles, with ease in both Libya & Iraq......The killing of our folks in Benghazi was because an arms deal had gone bad, and who knows what ISIS got out of it!!! You can thank bumbling Hillary Clinton for that!!!
If that is true, which I don’t know.....Putin has got to think this through, and possibly wrap the destruction of this commercial airliner and the deaths of its innocent passengers, around Obama and Clinton’s neck!!! If, in fact, it was a bomb placed aboard the aircraft on the ground in Egypt by ISIS...then Putin will unleash all hell against ISIS...wherever they are!!! Putin is in to far to back out...he now must seek victory.....and that means slaughter ISIS & continue to make Obama/Clinton look like the buffoon and weak sister he & she are!!!

He sees Bernie Sanders tanking, Obama is useless, Clinton is now standing alone, with no competition for the POTUS nomination, weakened by her continuing and past sins...and, the Democrat Party has no bench to draw from!!! You can figure the rest out, from here!!! Problem for Clinton and the Democrat Party......they have no one that is thinking strategically.....Obama/Clinton play checkers & Putin excels at chess!!! An engineer from my parents’ generation told me one that all transportation fuel including the volatile fuel used in piston aircraft has volatility characteristics such that a mixture of fuel and air above the fuel in a tank will not ignite.
I’m thinking maybe a clock.

Clinton knew that if the take down of TWA800 was reliably traced to the actions of a foreign government he was going to be obliged to do something about it. Most likely it was Iranian pay back for the Vincennes. Clinton was kewl with it, Berger was cool with it. The voters would have been outraged.

What if they were fired from a mountaintop as the plane was climbing. Lots of pretty high mountains there.
FYI, some of the mountains there are 8000 feet high.
If they had not reached cruising altitude yet, the gap could be within the range of a missile.
