Do you grasp for a moment what these J Street cretins are supporting ? They would be happy to see the State of Israel wiped off the face of the Earth. That you are so quick to defend them calls into question what your agenda is.
Israel is an ancient Jewish (Hebrew) Name. Hence, Hebrews (Jews) could be the ONLY indigenous people. Canaan on the other hand was populated by various Hamitic tribes until Israel came the Hamitic tribes either died, were displaced, or integrated with the Hebrews (Jews).
Indigenism is a form of nineteenth century European romantic nationalism (it was called "autochthony" back then) which held that each people emerged from the "sacred soil" of its own homeland.
Only one person in history has ever emerged from the soil: 'Adam haRi'shon (the first man). Eve emerged from Adam, and ever other human being who has ever lived has emerged from his/her mother.
Although the Garden of Eden is in some way connected with the holy city of Chevron (Hebron), the Jewish claim to 'Eretz Yisra'el has never been that they are "indigenous" to it. It is that G-d gave the Land to them exclusively.
The claim of Jewish indigeneity is just another excuse to avoid mentioning G-d or the Torah.
And btw, I realize this isn't the point J Street is making. I despise J Street and am for a Jewish (and Halakhic) Israel, but that must be based on G-d, not secular ideologies.

Everything I’ve ever seen them advocate is evil to the core. Please don’t tell me they’re “liberals, not evil”. Even if we agreed that liberalism is not intrinsicly evil — an interesting discussion — these people advocate extremely evil things regularly and as their patent main purpose too. But yes since you asked, j street pushes for everything it seems that would logically lead to the slaughter of another seven million Jews.
