Bundled Cable Deathwatch: ESPN To Cut 350 Jobs
breitbart.com ^ | 20 Oct 2015 | John Nolte

According to Bloomberg, the increasingly left-wing ESPN sports network has been forced to cut 350 jobs due directly to subscriber losses, which is also known as cord cutting. Early estimates were between 200 and 300 job cuts after parent company Disney ordered ESPN to cut $100 million from its 2016 budget.

In just over a year, as customers cut their cable cords and move to streaming television services like Netflix, as of August, ESPN had lost a whopping 3.2 million subscribers.

“The twits at ESPN were joyful at the inauguration of Obama. Half of their fans, if not more, reacted with revulsion, and still feel that way. Bad move on ESPN’s part.”

Typical arrogant responses by arrogant liberals. Then we say that’s it, and stop watching or using their product, we get blamed for being so mean.

The same thing is happening to the WSJ after Murdock and his liberal off springs took over and turned it into a left wing hit piece. Now, it’s worth about 10% of the value when the liars bought it.

“I remember when there were only 57 channels with nothing on.”

Now, we have 450-500 more channels still with very little on.

Also, a large % of those channels are not English/American language.

“I’ll make the prediction that within the next decade...half the nation settles in for Netflix and an antenna on the roof for their four or five local stations.”

I have posted before about the constant increase in outside tv antennas in our area. The new antennae owners seem to break down into two groups.

1. The liberals, who dislike tv except for the non profit and local tv news or good feelings shows so they really only need a simple outside tv antenna if they are in range.

2. Conservatives like us using Netflix, Amazon Prime or something similar and the local stations for the few programs they watch.

One of these days Comcast will price us out of the TV market, and we will look for alternatives.

Might have something to do with the multi-year, mutli-billion dollar sports league contracts. I rarely watch MNF, no NBA, no NHL, definitely no soccer, or any of the women’s events (college or pro.

It was a fun channel when it was comical broadcasters and highlight reels, but the wheels came off when they got to full of themselves.

Don’t even get me started on ESPN Radio...

I told fiance, who became more of a football freak than me, that we will skip whatever game they have sole possession of during the week,

i think she defies me behind my back. Where’s that strap :)

dont think you can just get the game. And i HATE missing it too,

Isn’t that the truth - used to be a huge college football fan, ESPN has pretty much ruined it (IMO)

Usually, no. I am for throwing away as much as possible.

Are the weekends overbooked with travel and events that mean nothing to me?
