Why US Fears Putin Success in Syria
Russia Today ^ | October 16, 2015 | Finian Cunningham

Posted on 10/18/2015 7:27:53 PM PDT by marvel5

"The US and its allies would like to see Russia’s military operations in Syria go horribly wrong as Russia’s success heralds a crushing defeat for Western regime-change machinations. It would also signal the balance of power shifting away from US hegemony.

. . .

From the outset of Russia’s aerial bombing campaign against terror groups in Syria, beginning on September 30, Washington and its Western allies have sought all possible ways of discrediting and derailing the intervention. US President Obama poured scorn saying “it was doomed to fail,” while Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron labeled the Russian move as “a grave mistake” on the part of Putin.

. . .

[T]he point here is that it is becoming glaringly obvious that Washington and its allies want to make as much trouble for Russia’s military intervention in Syria. Why is the West going out of its way to thwart Russia’s intervention?"

It is Russia Today. But the administration does fear Russian success against ISIS but only because they are allies of ISIS. But that is one of the side effects of deliberately weakening the USA so it has less influence in the world.

"Why US Fears Putin Success in Syria." Translation: it will make the feckless fool on the hill look like what he truly is: a feckless fool on the hill.

When we began (again) dropping ordinance and arms from the air to the Syrian terrorists to fight against Assad and Russia it became evident that the US needs Russia to fail and will spend whatever it take, using the Syrian people as cannon fodder

And, the Obama-pimps were upset that Rush Limbaugh said he hoped Obama would fail.

Can’t argue with the article. Something all papers would write if they were honest.

Bush was going to make a flourishing democracy in the ME. I wonder if that woman who showed her colored thumb is still alive?

Obama was going to spread MB, but Egypt and now Russia foiled his plans.

Didn’t Obama and McCain (and others) say it would take 10 years to defeat ISIS? Do these people even know what the truth is anymore? No wonder Trump is doing so well.

RT is as much a mouthpiece for the Russian regime as MSNBC is a mouthpiece of this administration.

Putin is doing what is right for him and his cronies as well as his nation. All of this cold war crap (over Syria?) is stupid. Obama’s Syria policy was a disaster and it had become pretty obvious that the folks we chose to support were not what they told us they were.

The Russian administration is throwing lots of red meat to their nationalists factions via their media. Business as usual and NOT a return to the cold war. ISIS is a bigger threat to Russia than us.

The Cold War ended 24 years ago. Let us work together with the Russians to combat radical Islam.

Barry is still waiting for his Nobel War prize. He wants to mount both prizes in Lucite and use them as bookends.
Or bongs.

A better headline might be, “Why Does Putin Fear Low Oil Prices?”

And how long might the bankers continue feeding loans to tight oil producers? And how about OPEC?

;-)
