Kevin Collier, a commander of the Stonewall Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, has had enough.
The Suffolk, Virginia, resident told WAVY-TV he got a warning letter last month indicating he had until Oct. 4 to ditch his Confederate flag license plate in favor of a new tag from the Department of Motor Vehicles.
It’s now a misdemeanor to drive with Confederate flag plates in Virginia — Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a Democrat, pushed for the ban amid furor over the symbol and its connection to the June shooting massacre in an historic black church in Charleston, South Carolina, the station noted.
As for his license plate deadline, Collier is late — but he won’t be asking for an extension.
“Next thing you know, they’re going to say you can’t wear blue on Monday…or you can’t wear yellow on Thursday,” he told the station. “Where’s it going to end?”
He’s not alone.
About 1,600 other Virginians were sent the same letter Collier got — and only 187 have turned in their Confederate flag license plates, the station said.. The agency acknowledged that a few simply sent the new license plates back to the DMV with “no thank you” notes, WAVY said.
The DMV told the station it asked the Sons of Confederate Veterans to assist on the new plate’s design but didn’t hear back from the group.
Collier told the station his heritage “means everything to me.”
I don’t remeber this passing the General Assembly. I don’t think that Clinton’s Bag Man has the authority to make laws on his own.
Who is this flag hurting? The muslims? The atheists? The illegal immigrants?
This is OUR country, these are OUR freedoms and if they offend someone, then that person needs to LEAVE....

Hey, I have absolutely no sympathy whatsoever. YOU people voted for that idiot for governor. Elections have consequences. Sorry. We have the same license plates here in Gerorgia for the same organizations. I don’t seen anyone coming in to confiscate them. We had something in this country called the Civil War. OK? Stupid friggin liberals.

I had standard NJ plates that I had on 4 different cars. When I took the last car off the road for mechanical issues, the DMV demanded I surrender the plates. Huh? I blew it off, and they eventually suspended my DL. Cost me a day off from work to go to Trenton and deal with 3 different snotty, overweight, negro women.
The screws are not just tightening on Christians, conservatives, and truth.
It is the outright criminalization of every action, writing, word or idea that stands in opposition to tyranny.
Voting alone cannot save us.

You hit the nail on the head. Affirmative action has created an unequal number of government workers belonging to a minority that run roughshod over whites. I had a serious medical case once and calling the state to get the tests expedited I ran into an affirmative action employee. They refused my request and said I’d have to wait a week. I told her to get me someone on the phone that wasn’t an affirmative action hire. The Physician in charge was retrieved and the child didn’t have to undergo the post rabies exposure vaccinations. The affirmative action employee would have cost the child pain, risk, and expense had I let her ram her uncaring attitude down my throat.
Terry McAuliffe cannot be made to appear ineffectual. He will dispatch his po-po to take down & prone out a few recalcitrants `pour encourager les autres’.
Maybe insure the arresting officer is a minority who will bellow at the prostrate motorist, “Do you know how much that flag offends me!!?”
And what happens when you drive through Virginia? Are you guilty of the same misdemeanor? Will they confiscate your Georgia plate? Will Georgia match Virginia's law?
You probably should get interested now before it's to late.
