My Favourite Country Botswana
HELP SAVE GLOBAL WILDLIFE MY FAVOURITE COUNTRY BOTSWANA ^

Posted on 10/13/2015 11:53:15 PM PDT by OrthodoxIndianCatholic

Botswana is a landlocked country which is situated in Southern Africa. It is my favourite country in the world. It is a "Wildlife Paradise" in more ways than one.

It is home to the "Big Five" namely Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Elephant, and Rhino. They are called the "Big Five" because they were difficult to hunt on foot in the past. Botswana has reserved 40% of its land exclusively for wildlife.

Botswana is home to many famous "National Parks" and "Game Reserves". The most famous are Chobe National Park and Moremi Game Reserve.

Chobe National Park in Northern Botswana is globally famous because of its popular elephant sightings which are supposed to be the best in Africa.

Chobe National Park is home to Kalahari Bush Elephants- The Largest Elephants in the world. They are estimated to be more than 50,000 in Chobe National Park.

Chobe National Park has the highest concentration of Elephants in Africa as of 2015. One can see these magnificent Elephants in a myriad of ways - in the water, on land, and upclose when they come in large numbers to bathe and to drink water from the Chobe River.

Moremi Game Reserve on the other hand, is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta in North-East Botswana. It is home to Black and White Rhinos, Herds of Elephants, Giraffes, various kinds of antelopes, and cheetahs to mention a few - who in my opinion are the "Waltzing Ballerinas" of the Savannah Grasslands.

President Ian Khama of Botswana is worth mentioning here. He has been the "Driving Force" behind Botswana's thrusts towards "Wildlife Conservation". Botswana has made great strides in the field of "Elephant Conservation" all under the Presidency of Ian Khama.

Today, Botswana is home to 133,000 plus Bush Elephants.

This is all because of the "personal involvement" of President Ian Khama in the field of "Elephant Conservation"' and "Wildlife Conservation". Botswana's Elephant Population is not only stable but is also increasing with every passing year.

"Wildlife Tourism" and "Eco- Tourism" is the "Motto" of Botswana. Botswana is a "stable democracy" in Africa today and is politically and economically stable.

To end, I will speak about Botswana on an "Economic Note".

Botswana has a booming "Beef - Export Business" to Europe.

Norway, a country in Northern Europe is one of the biggest importers of "Botswana Beef". Besides this, Botswana has a thriving Diamond Mining Industry.

President Ian Khama has taken it upon himself to promote the Agriculture Sector and Wildlife Tourism Sector in Botswana.

President Ian Khama is not only the best African Politician in Southern Africa but the best politician all across Africa.

Botswana in 2015 is the "least corrupt" country in Africa and is making major strides "economically".

Dear Friends,

Botswana is a "Wildlife Paradise". It is home to large numbers of mammals including the "Big Five".

Elephant Herds, White Rhinos, and Cheetahs are my favourite animals who live in Botswana.

Botswana has been extremely successful in the field of wildlife conservation with regard to Elephants, Rhinos, and Cheetahs who live in different regions of Botswana.

Cheetah Conservation has been quite successful in the Okavango Delta and in the Kalahari Desert respectively.

Conservation of White Rhinos has been successful in the Okavango Delta while Elephant Conservation has been successful throughout Northern Botswana.

This would not have been possible without the "astute leadership" of President Ian Khama. He has taken Botswana's Wildlife Tourism Industry into the 21st Century with great success.

Instead of reserving 40% of the country for dumb animals, I’ll just go to the zoo

Botswana's cool, but...

"It is home to the "Big Five" namely Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Elephant, and Rhino."
Nope. The "Big 5" are Lion, Tiger, Polar Bear, Elephant, and Rhino.

6th place is Hippo. 7th is Panther. 8th is Crocodile.

*just for land animals

I think people should live in their favorite country. For
example, I love America, it’s my favorite country in the
world, therefore that’s where I live. Obama loves socialism
so he should go live in a socialist country. Muslims should
live in muslim countries, etc.. It’s good to here from
people from other countries and I’m glad you’re happy in
Botswana.

Would love to visit Botswana - from what I’ve read it’s pretty safe and the people are welcoming. It’s on my list of places I’d like to go but probably won’t.

Probably the worst part about Botswana is its surrounded by South Africa. I love America too first, but this is an interesting story about another great place and I thank the poster for this information. It’s nice to see an intelligent government and people who value their natural resources and have turned them into a economic asset instead of a pile of
bushmeat.

Being a wildlife artist, Botswana’s been on my list of places I’d like to visit for quite a while. Sure wouldn’t mind trying some of that beef, either.

Old Namibia hand here. In southern Africa, the Big Five refers to lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and cape buffalo.

Perhaps your reference is to a global variation of the Big Five, but it is traditionally about the most dangerous large animals to hunt in Africa, which are lion, elephant, Cape buffalo, leopard and rhino.

Leopards are panthers, as are jaguars and cougars. It’s just a general term.

I don't need my bass fishing 'tailor-made'. I want you to get the hell out of my way and let me throw down with the bass. No guides, no nothing. Capiche?

Having traveled in Africa (but not Botswana) it's easy to see how a visit to the Okavango Delta would be the trip of a lifetime.Hopefully they, unlike some of their neighbors, have poaching under control.

I assure you that there are few experiences in life as awe-inspiring as seeing a family of elephants strolling past your Land Rover...or seeing a giraffe on his/her hind legs trying to reach fruit at the top of a tree.

Once you do the zoo will never again be enough.

No wonder he's polling so low in the US.

I think their bass are called piranhas. Always hungry and strike hard. Ten dollar rapala good for 2 casts. Recommend using dynamite on a jihadist.
