Donald Trump actually isn't the scariest GOP presidential candidate
Washington Post via Business Insider ^ | 10/13/2015 | Eugene Robinson, Washington Post

The craziest thing about the Republican presidential contest isn't that Donald Trump is in the lead. It's that Dr. Ben Carson — who truly seems to have lost his mind — is in second place and gaining fast. Trump may be a blowhard, but Carson has proved himself to be a crackpot of the first order. Of all the GOP contenders, he's the scariest.

I say this as a longtime admirer of Carson for his stellar medical career. As the head of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Carson not only saved lives in the operating room but also inspired countless young people to overcome rough beginnings and reach for the stars.

That sounds like a cliche, but I've seen the effect Carson has on a room full of low-income African American students when he tells the story of how he escaped a childhood of poverty in Detroit to graduate from Yale University, study medicine at the University of Michigan and become one of the most acclaimed surgeons of our time. Carson's message — if I can do it, so can you — has a powerful impact on young people. I wish he were still delivering it.

Instead, alas, he is running for president. And despite spouting more utter nonsense than the law should allow, Carson has the support of 18 percent of GOP voters, according to the RealClearPolitics poll average — five points behind Trump and miles ahead of the rest of the field.

Carson speaks softly, slowly, thoughtfully. Much of what he says, however, is dangerously wrong.

His most recent burst of blather was over gun control in the wake of the Oregon massacre.

RE: “Crackpot for Surgeon General”.

Surgeon general is such a waste of talent. I’d prefer HHS Secretary, whose first job will be to dismantle Obamacare and replace it with something much better.

The Democrat Party is so desperate not to “out-negroed” by the GOP that they will attempt to destroy a fine man who, by their analysis, is the “wrong kind of negro”. Democrats and their party of slavery even to the present have no shame with what they do. They are truly disgusting people.

No justification of the accusatory headline in the whole first six paragraphs of the article: FAIL!

Yeah Carson is outrageous.

First he tells people to fight back if they’re facing a gunman, then he says Jews could’ve fought back if they had guns.

Clearly, Carson is a threat to the bleeding-heart Media’s “just surrender” narrative.

Good. Stay panicked, bleeding-heart Media.

replace it with something much better.

Much better, as in nothing. That is, exit stage left for the federal govt. Remove everything... 0'care, restrictions on cross-state-border competition, restrictions on Doctor-owned hospitals, forcing hospital ERs to treat everyone to the max. The only thing to put in place that was not there before, would be restrictions on jury awards.

Eugene Robinson is a racist fool.

Its good and proper that he is "scared" of Dr. Carson.

Nothing frightens the left like the truth and a man w/ the integrity to stand up for it.

You are taking the partisan attack of an opinion writer for the Compost as truth about Carson? Wow.

The entire progressive leftist movement depends on keeping minorities isolated and without any hope but the false promises of the left. Without that ability to isolate one faction from another they have no power at all.

It’s why they have been trying to to isolate and cut from the herd every group, always being careful to keep each group they cut intact and pure, so they can lead each one around by a leash to set loose on opposition, or set them against each other lest one grow too powerful to be controlled.

Still don’t get it do you?

Every time you vomit up this personal attack garbage of yours, you hurt you candidate, not the candidate you are attacking.

Yikes! It’s Eugene Robinson who’s the major crackpot here! At least he’s a useful idiot who serves to highlight the wedge issue of gun control as such a prominent part of the ‘rat platform. The ‘rats try to hide from it (most of the time), but it’s one we should continually remind all their blue collar supporters.

Actually, we’ve seen in Iraq and Afghanistan what a determined force of irregulars can do against the military. Starting with small weapons and improvised weapons, they eventually get their hands on bigger stuff and can wreak havoc for years.
