Trey Gowdy is right. The House is basically ungovernable.

In an interview with NBC's Kristen Welker, South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy offered his honest — and correct — assessment of his party in Congress. Here's the key bit:

I think the House is bordering on ungovernable right now. ... Being Speaker is a very difficult job. We need to have a family conversation and sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before that conversation starts. We're getting close ...

Now, Gowdy was explaining to Welker why he wouldn't be interested in the soon-to-be vacant job as speaker of the House. But his reasoning is almost certainly why Paul Ryan isn't jumping at the job either despite every establishment Republican in the country urging him to do it.

Sheeeeeeyit. When was the last time The House was interested in governing?

They've completely abdicated to Obola the power WE delegated to them.

Not rubber stamping Open Borders / ObamaCare, etc. = bomb throwing right wing nut.

They don’t want the uni-party upset. This is why 60%+ of Republican voters are supporting political outsiders and Cruz.

Read today the Chamber of Commerce is committing $100 million to defeat Tea Party members.

Shut the place down. Chaos is good. It’s what the voters want! Give us a conservative as House Speaker or we’ll just wait for the 2016 elections.

Gee Conservative members stopped rolling over and now the situation is ungovernable. How about this: Wapo is unreadable.

Typical of the MSM how this article is slanted to paint the Freedom Caucus as the major problem, when in fact the real problem is how the establishment GOP wants to rubber stamp every facet of the Obama agenda and wave their collective middle finger at the voters who put them in office.

Sorry, but I can’t bring myself to go to the entire article and give the WaPo site an unmerited “hit.”

But, the excerpt is clear enough. The WaPo would never agree with anything Gowdy discovers about Bengazhi, but it WILL quote him out of context to continue the drum beat of the meme that the conservatives have ruined the legislative system.

BULL!

“Ungovernable” is likely what the Founders envisioned. Everyone going along to get along is what’s landed us in the present mess.

By the way, how does this Gowdy guy have any credibility at this point? Nobody’s gone to jail or lost their jobs as the result of his interminable hearings on Benghazi.

i always knew this cretin was a RINO

If Trey Gowdy is a RINO then we are all RINOs.

The Problem With the House is really a direct result of the Rules of the Senate and the need for 60 votes to pass anything that the Dems object too. A majority of the House membership looks at that fact, presumes that a Government shutdown could easily result and give up without a fight.

End the 60 vote cloture rule in the Senate and we might have a chance at a rational House of Representatives governed by the Republicans. Without it, the Trey Gowdy view will be the correct one.

“Gowdy is a graduate of the Issa School of all bluster talk, no action.”

For me, the jury is still out on Gowdy. He’s a former prosecutor, unlike Issa, and I am willing to give him more time to complete his investigation. He’s had roadblocks from the Admin at every turn of the road. Now that Boner is out of the picture, we will see if that changes anything. Did you read the scathing letter Gowdy wrote to the RAT Lawn Jockey “Minority” Leader (Cummings)? He nailed that Black prick’s genitals to his office wall.

A Republican speaker who needs to always lean on Democrats to pass anything doesn't really have all that much power. And every time he (or she) leans on Democrats to pass something, that power erodes even more. (See Boehner, John.)

They say this like it is a bad thing.

The less that is done in congress the less freedom is eroded.

If the Freedom Caucus can't get behind it; it likely doesn't need to be done.

To the MSM, "ungovernable", means a stop to Obama's agenda.

And why they advocate a GOPe type for House Leader.

With Boehner and McConnell, the MSM got their GOPe compromises.
