You should quit being such a pompous dick, Dan, ...

More from the Houston Chronicle -

Cocks not glocks: Dildos to replace guns at UT-Austin campus carry protest

AUSTIN - Hundreds of students at the University of Texas at Austin will protest a new law will allow more guns on campus not with signs or sit-ins, but by "strapping gigantic swinging dildos to our backpacks."

“the risk that a disgruntled student might bring a gun into the classroom and start shooting at me has been substantially enhanced by the concealed-carry law”

He’s been on a Kool-aid bender for so long that no amount of simple logic will ever penetrate. He’s a UT professor. I have know more of them than was good for my sanity. Best just to leave them where you find them.

On August 1, 1966 Charles Whitman lugged a foot locker full of weapons to the top of the UT Tower. I was an 18 year old student working on a construction project 3 blocks away and heard every shot he fired and every shot that Texas armed citizens shot back. All told it was hundreds of rounds and killed 14 while wounding 32.

It took brave armed men to confront and kill the sob and and protect all the “professors” and their “students” scant hundreds of feet away.

The “law” didn’t protect those 14 dead and 32 wounded. One brave armed cop and one brave armed citizen did. He had to borrow a gun!

No “gun control” type law on the books then or now would have stopped Whitman. The “perfesser” is an idiot to make the argument. I hope he stays in Sydney the rest of his liberal life and takes several more with him!

Apparently he hasn’t been told about the tower sniper.

One less liberal wacko corrupting the minds of our youth.

A longtime economics professor at the University of Texas at Austin is leaving the school, saying the state’s new campus carry law — which makes it legal for some Texans to carry concealed handguns into college classrooms beginning next August — has “substantially enhanced” the chances of a shooting. How could anyone expect that they would learn anything from someone THIS STUPID ?!!

“With a huge group of students my perception is that the risk that a disgruntled student might bring a gun into the classroom and start shooting at me has been substantially enhanced by the concealed-carry law,”

UT is WAY better off without Professor Idiot, because disgruntled students don’t care about whether they have legal permission to bring a firearm into class and start shooting: they just do it.

Sad that an economics professor knows so little about statistics.

So the economic policies of our country are generated in the minds of people with the logical skills of this guy? That explains a lot.

Uh, the disgruntled Student wouldn’t use a Gun unless he had a CC Permit? That’s a new one.

As my Dear Mother used to say, “some people are so smart, they’re stupid”. The Professor fits her description 100%.

If that’s how economists think; somebody should probably tell them that nothing in life is ever equal, even less so among “all other things”.

I am still completely DISGRUNTLED, yet I have never even considered shooting some one (whether they desperately needed it or not) at home, on the street, or the workplace.
Self defense and the battlefield are completely different matters.

Its the only way their theories “work”. Its the only way that any Progressive idea can “work”. Look at their religious devotion to global warming. They have to ignore the massive beneficial uses of cheap, abundant energy to be able to point to a century from now and think that a sea level rise of a few inches is a catastrophe worthy of even discussing, much less the kind of draconian measures they propose for right now. It’s all ceteris parabus.
