These Hollywood types IMO are looking at the global potential sales and since the worlds is mostly left and failing ACTORS have to appeal to their markets.

If you ever watch an interview with Maddie Damon, no matter the subject, it's apparent that he's not very bright. And it isn't just a matter of disagreement with his politics. If he was a conservative but still conducted himself the same way in interviews, my thoughts would be, “can we get a better spokesperson for our side?”

Why are so few of them capable of thinking for themselves? Isn't that the essence of an actor, someone who depends on others to put ideas and words in their heads?

Deep? I know cabbages that are deeper than him.

Being a Navy retiree, I’d also say send him out to work the flight deck on a carrier, but he’d probably get his idiot self sucked into a jet intake or fried by the exhaust.

Deep is a relative term coming from someone as shallow as Matt Damon.
He’s an actor, they get paid to say other peoples words.

Matt Damon and his “running” buddy Ben Affleck are both at the low end of the IQ pool.
I just can’t go to any movies these two do.
Well maybe Matt can stand on for Reggie Love when needed.
To: originalbuckeye
That probably was the best role he will ever have, he was perfectly suited for it.
To: rktman
Unfortunately neither word applies to Damon.

Who is Matt Damon and why would I be interested in what he thinks/says. Of course I also wonder why all the Hollywood/movie types have such notoriety. It must be that many people in the US are of the same ilk.
To: noinfringers2
I don’t know much about actors these days. Damon looks a little like some other actors that I don’t know much about. There’s a guy who plays on Blue Bloods that favors Damon. Husband watches Blue Bloods. I can’t convince him the people on that show (and others) are fakes & phonies. So, I generally just absent myself when those shows come on and leave him alone with his fantasies. - Most “stars” have as many real life tragedies & problems as most other ordinary human beings have.

No wonder his fellow astronauts left him on Mars.
