Betrayal: Will The GOP Establishment Use Democrats to Elect a New Speaker?
dailywire.com ^ | 10/8/15 | Ben Shapiro

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) surprise Thursday announcement that he would withdraw from the race to replace Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) as Speaker of the House has thrown the race into turmoil. Pundits have suggested names ranging from Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) to the omnipresent Mitt Romney as replacements. Robert Costa of the Washington Post reports that according to Rep. Peter King (R-NY), “members are crying in cloakroom, unable to handle the unrest and confusion.”

But that unrest is hardly as frightening as a potential catastrophic measure reported by Bloomberg Politics reporter Sahil Kapur:

Sahil Kapur ‎@sahilkapur Rep. Charlie Dent (R) says there may have to be a bipartisan coalition on the floor to elect the next speaker.

Dent, who considers himself a possible replacement for Boehner along those lines, told CNN, “we [may] have to assemble a bipartisan coalition, that’s the reality of the place…The question now is: Who’s gonna step up and try to grab the brass ring?”

They worked SOOOOO hard to deny us ANY victory.

Every bill we wanted was blocked...intentionally.

And every bill we were against they passed...intentionally.

They're desperate to thwart conservatism...but their days are numbered. Heads are rolling!

I read on Drudge that Peter King claimed some Congressmen were weeping over what happened. If that is true, they should be sought out and asked to resign from office. I am so damned tired of seeing grown men weep. These are the people who vote to send the military into harm’s way. Why don’t they go to the drug store and buy some male hormones. I think it is for sale.

In a way I kinda want them to, it would cause the party to destroy itself like the Whig Party did.

From the ashes a better party would be born.

I’m sick of having the party i used to love stab us all in the back on a too regular basis.

“members are crying in cloakroom, unable to handle the unrest and confusion.”

They really are their own worst enemies aren't they? Not a shred of a clue how to manage PR or behave as a majority with conviction.

The GOPe is so trying to out-lib the dems, to the point of being obscene. The bastards don’t even try to hide it anymore, and have nothing but contempt for the American people who won’t capitulate to their will.

More concerning to me was the delay in voting because they lost their replacement Boehner.

Why would they do that? The Democrats will let the GOP squirm on this. Eventually the Republicans will elect someone. In the mean time why get in the way of their disarray?

Every member of the house has to run for reelection every two years. Anyone who caucuses with democrats should have a primary opponent.

Voters in their districts should make sure they know that. Maybe the traitors proposing this should just be impeached or recalled now

Will The GOP Establishment Use Democrats to Elect a New Speaker?

If the eGOP feels that they can get away with it, they will.

Really, watching all this play out is like watching professional wrestling, with the two phony parties in the spotlight, trying to fool the chumps in the audience, with their fightn' words and body slams.

Its all a show for the doofuses, to keep them distracted while they loot the public treasury and abrogate the citizens' rights.

Correct. The faGOPs are Conservative when it's a show-vote that doesn't matter, but faGOPs alway when the rubber meets the road.

I heard Mark Levin say the Speaker does not have to be a member of Congress. If so, what about one of the excellent but low polling presidential candidates like Santorum, Jindal, Huckabee, or...Carson is good but he has been polling higher.

Or how about one of the justices from North Carolina that resigned recently rather than support homo marriage? As judges go, I love Roy Moore, but I do not know if enough other people love him.

I am thinking about writing in Roy Moore for president if the Republican Party gives me another unacceptable choice. In my opinion he is one of the best men in America.

If I were to choose a pundit, I would choose — wait for it — .....................Don Feder. He is brilliant. He cannot be attacked for being Christian because he is Jewish. No one would know what to do with him, and he is brave.

Oh, what about asking J.C. Watts to come back and be speaker? He was a member of the house and in leadership while there.
