Former Vice President Dick Cheney is stepping into the suddenly feverish House speaker's race to endorse the leading candidate, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), as "a good man and a strong leader."
McCarthy has a challenge from the right, and Cheney's statement should help McCarthy with some of the hardliners, in part by giving them conservative cover to support him.

Among several reasons is that Cheney is a rabid chicken hawk, anxious to start wars and send others into battle but found convenient excuses to himself to avoid military service. As others write, why won’t he stay retired?
Which just tells us he was fully vetted by the GOPe and it was determined he can be controlled, manipulated, beaten into submission and obedient. He needs no other qualifications.

Why won’t these dinosaurs go away? Dick Cheney had his time and it’s over now. At 70 something and with health issues you’d think he’d like just go and rest and enjoy life. But no, he’s got stick his RINO nose in conservative politics. Go away Dick...and stay away.
Regardless of one’s stand on Cheney’s position on foreign military operations, to equate Dick Cheney’s credibility with Barack Obama’s is ridiculous. One may disagree with Cheney, but counting Cheney as less worthy of trust than the narcissistic, pathological liar Barack Obama strains credulity.
Cheney being his normal GOPe self. I cannot understand the fascination some have with him. Lots of tough talk. A pure 100% Bushie.
And when asked about Vietnam, said he “had better things to do”. Pure chickenhawk.

Gee, the guy who had more pressing things to do during vietnam that fight but sent troops into Iraq and Afghanistan like it was nothing with the army “you have” is voting for a RINO.
