The Nuclear Option: ‘Teflon Don’ Morphs into a Real Candidate
Breitbart.com ^ | 7 Oct 2015 | Charles Hurt

Posted on 10/07/2015 9:00:22 AM PDT by Rockitz

First they ignored him. Then they mocked him. Then they tried tearing him down.

With each failure to destroy Donald Trump, the political experts and establishment stooges only made him stronger. And now they don’t have a clue what to do.

Those in Washington who still think a Donald Trump presidency is preposterous or absurd have only themselves to blame for creating an environment that has made it so easy for the swashbuckling, smack-talking businessman to rise so effortlessly to the top of the heap.

It turns out that not only does the man enjoy very high energy, he also has incredible stamina. His staying power is a-MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZ-ing. Mr. Trump is outlasting all of his harshest critics and is now outlasting some of the surest favorites running for the Republican nomination.

Scott Walker was the man to beat. ...

His campaign’s spectacular collapse — rivaled only by that of former Texas Gov. Rick Perry — is sure not to be the last.

Already, the jackals in the press have caught the scent of death around Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)’s campaign and have begun circling and letting loose their heinous laughs.

The most alarming thing about Donald Trump for these people is that they have, literally, thrown everything they can at the man. And, yet, he is still standing, completely unbowed. In the 3½ months since he launched his campaign, his popularity has only grown with every sling and arrow.

They have accused him of rape and tarred him as a racist. They smeared him as a traitor. And, yet, Teflon Don remains undented, the toupee-less man unruffled.

In the process, Mr. Trump has accomplished something no one thought possible. Meticulously, methodically, patiently, Mr. Trump has morphed into a legitimate candidate....

The author sounds like he wants to rub Trump down with some nice hot oil.

The most alarming thing about Donald Trump for these people is that they have, literally, thrown everything they can at the man.

And yet , they cannot throw as much at him as they can at a Sarah Palin, because he has the financial and other resources to fight back in a way that she couldn't.

Yet, they still don't see that this is all their own fault. You have power and you don't know what to do with it. While you got rid of one weak link in the Speaker of the House, but you still have a sissy who can't do a damn thing running the Senate. Time for him to go, too. The GOP needs to stop being a diluted Democrat wannabe and start doing something for conservatives. Until I see that happening, the purse strings remain very tight.

Perry's campaign didn't collapse, it never got off the ground. It wasn't a good year for his brand of crony capitalism.

Most of the media are complete idiots when it comes to Trump. They haven’t done the most rudimentary research on him. If they had they would recognize exactly what is happening. He wants something and he has a plan in place to get it. He will pursue it until he obtains it or until he loses. He is essentially treating it like a business deal. He’s figured out the process, calculated the best way to success and is implementing the steps he needs to achieve it. Simple really to understand.

RE “...because he has the financial and other resources to fight back ...”

And there, in the proverbial nutshell, is why he’s able to weather it. Plus one more thing that needs to be considered: He has the WILL to fight back, and knows how to do it; and he’s not about to let the GOPe tell him to stand down.

“a-MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZ-ing” is a Trumpism, a staple of his vocabulary.

I’m glad Trump is exposing all these GOPe whores in the so-called “conservative” media. Now we know... Krauthammer, Will, Hewitt, etcetera, etc.

Donald Trump is amazing totally....that is one of his pluses...

But the biggest plus are his supporters...WE will NOT surrender, or lose interest, or complain on what he does, what he says and how he does it...

We can see what this man can bring to America...he is one of us, he’s tired of seeing America destroyed, he’s tired of seeing illegal immigrants getting treated better than the vets and wounded warriors, he’s tired of seeing our faces smeared in shame to the world because of a gutless House and Senate and a ‘I don’t know what to call obuma’ ruining the rest of The U.S. ...

Trump speaks to us, like we have been friends forever, he talks about things we talk about, and he has solutions...you want to know what makes him great? He wants to Make America Great Again!!!

It will be interesting to see his tact when dealing with the commies if he gets the nomination. I predict that after a month he’ll lead the polls by 15% or more in the general race.

Everytime I turn around, Donald Trump is giving an in-depth interview or holding a rally and a separate press conference.

I think Trump has done more interviews and press conferences over the past few months than all the other candidate combined.

Has any other presidential candidate been this accessible ever before?

Usually, a front-runner presidential candidate is cocooned by handlers and only made available under very controlled circumstances and only when a script is provided ahead of time. I think Donald just picks up the phone when he wants to get something out there. Or he just gets it out on Twitter.

Doesn't look like Trump is going to get Palinized. We all love Sarah Palin here but during the 2008 campaign we all saw that "deer in the headlights" look Palin had when asked something as simple as "what was the last book you read." Now Sarah handles the press like a pro now but she clearly wasn't ready for those "gotcha" questions in 2008.

On the other hand, Trump is a seasoned pro and he's only getting better as he puts himself out there every single day. He's pretty much made himself bulletproof, nobody from the media can lay a glove on him.

>> “And yet , they cannot will not throw as much at him as they can at a Sarah Palin” <<

They have no desire to throw anything at him but free high profile air time. They are trying their best to turn him into the 2016 GOP spoiler.

They talk about him constantly in order to keep his name in the heads of Republican voters.

I think they're going to fail dismally, because they started the campaign too soon.

People are going to wise up over the coming year, and coalesce around the real conservative candidate, Ted Cruz. He is not a quitter, and has a solid understanding of election politics.

RINOs created Trump by promoting amnesty.

Had the GOPe merely required that current law be enforced, Trump would not exist in politics.

I hope you are right about Cruz. I don’t see Trump being anyone’s tool. he’s in his element and he is an establshed persona that others cannot redefine if he doesn’t want them to.

I do think the more committed voters will help Cruz in the Iowa caucuses, with Trump cominv on strong in NH where Cruz is weak. Then it all gets decided down south.

The other thing is he doesn’t carry baggage that the media can latch onto.

No illegitimate kids, no embarrassing drunken episodes, no drug use, apparently treated his employees well, family man .... he’s the media’s nightmare, untouchable
