Ted Cruz Amasses Ground Game That Covers Every County in Four States
NY Times ^ | October 7, 2015 | Nick Corasaniti

Posted on 10/07/2015 6:10:41 AM PDT by Isara

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas got an early start to the 2016 presidential campaign in March by being the first of what would become a vast field to announce his candidacy. Now, he has turned that starting advantage into a sprawling ground game.

For every county in the first four voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada, the Cruz campaign has locked down county chairs in charge of not just lending their names to the campaign, but of spearheading outreach and organizing efforts.

“The only way we will turn our country around is through a grass-roots uprising of the American people, and I’m grateful for the many courageous conservatives in the early states who have stepped forward to lead that grass-roots movement,” Mr. Cruz said in a statement on Tuesday.

The focus on the ground game should come as no surprise, as the Cruz campaign has been heavily focused on building leadership teams, including in the United States Virgin Islands, and even sending operatives as far as Guam and Samoa to look for potential support. It has also focused on building issue-based teams in the early states, such as their “99 Iowa Pastors” initiative, which seeks to tap into the networks to build more grass-roots support.

The large list of county chairs further emphasized the conservative grass-roots support that has followed Mr. Cruz since his announcement, with small-dollar fund-raisers powering his $10 million haul in the second quarter.

The campaign has not released their numbers for the latest quarter, however.

I for one hope the TRUE, dedicated, incontrovertible Conservative in this race, Ted Cruz, absolutely kicks Donald’s butt right to the gutter. God willing, he will. No apologies here for my provocative language. Go get em’, Texas Ted. Gitter’ done .

I’m with you. I will never vote for the liberal Trump either. For the 1st time in 45 years of voting I will stay home on election day.
If Cruz is not the nominee I will not vote.

If you are interested in the names of the chairmen, here they are.

Cruz for President Announces County Chairs in Every County in First Four States

“I think the notion of these “ground games” is suspect”

If you think that, you don't know how a well organized ground game turns into actual votes. Republican Voter names are taken from the last Republican Primary voter list, then contacted individually by people they know in their counties, Cruz paid workers organize all this from a Republican office they opened in every county, mail fliers come almost every day to Republican voters, then these voters are contacted when early voting starts, reminding them to vote and even taking them to the poll if they need transportation. This gets actual votes for the candidate and he more than likely wins, especially if the other candidates have no or little ground game. I've been part of such a ground game and I know it works.

I WILL NOT EVER VOTE FOR THAT LYING DEMOCRAT SCUMBAG DONALD TRUMP.,

From the "Art of the Deal":

Deliver the Goods You can’t con people, at least not for long. You can create excitement, you can do wonderful promotion and get all kinds of press, and you can throw in a little hyperbole. But if you don’t deliver the goods, people will eventually catch on.

Trump, Donald J.; Schwartz, Tony (2009-12-18). Trump: The Art of the Deal (Kindle Locations 779-781). Random House Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.

What Trump is promising is what he'll deliver. To NOT do it requires an entirely different character and mindset then that which he has displayed in person and in writing for well over 30 years.

+1,000,000

I got this survey link from the Cruz campaign today. It's not really a poll that may be FReeped... but interesting that the campaign is actually soliciting the opinion of possible donors/voters regarding our national priorities:

http://support.tedcruz.org/2015-platform-survey/

I just don't know that it's something to post in it's own thread for all FReepers to fill out to help guide the campaign. Just... who else is actually asking, "What is important to you?" Who else might actually listen?

I would love to see the survey results for all of us on FR as a whole.

I got it too. I have trouble ranking issues by importance because so many of them are of equal importance.

“With all that effort I can’t figure his low polling. There must be some backroom forces at work. Still, he looks like he’s in it for the long haul, more power to him.”

Too many conservatives are distracted by the liberal tv star. They’ll come around eventually, and Cruz will be waiting.

In the meantime, he’ll do the actual work of beginning to turn our country around.

Immigration, for me, was ranked lower as a hot button issue, simply because National Defense would include the whole immigration issue.

Looks like Ted Cruz is in to go all the way to the White House as the next President of the United States, and have a ground swell of grass roots of bringing in others as coat tails.

Hope the Trump supporters are ready when the carpet is pulled from out under them very soon... Gnashing of teeth..

Ted Cruz is also gathering a impressive list of endorsements...

However the real work is going on behind the scenes and Ted Cruz is keeping his cards close to his chest...

Conservatives and Trump supporters would do well to get on the winning team early to support Ted Cruz...

Hope Ted Cruz’s national campaign builds a national team for Black Voters for Ted Cruz...

Be patient, around the end of December is about the time we would want to see Ted Cruz rising in the polls with healthy support and polling going into Super Tuesday.

That’s about 12 weeks away....

Ted Cruz supporters ARE NOT panicing...
