"We Have to Do Something!"

People wanting to restrict guns based on the Oregon shooting keep demanding "We have to do something!!!"

Well, we can do something. Unfortunately, our wonderful RINO establishment won't push for it. Instead of allowing the left to drive the "conversation", our own approach should be promoted, loud and clear.

Here's what we can do to help prevent these atrocities:

1. Control the border

- Most illegal guns come from drug gangs smuggling weapons across. If you don't know who's coming in, you don't know which ones are armed.

2. Eliminate gun free zones

- Federal buildings that disallow guns have an armed security force stationed there to protect the facility and occupants. Employees have undergone background checks, and visitors are screened w/metal detectors. If you can't provide this amount of protection, then you shouldn't be able to ban guns from your facility.

3. Implement a "Presumed Carry" policy throughout the states

- Forget licensing. Check for felonies at time of purchase since felons can be denied rights. Can be as quick as a cop checking your tag and drivers license at a traffic stop. Even in states where concealed carry is effectively impossible to obtain, any officer stopping you is going to "presume" you're armed anyway for their own safety, so why not just let the citizens actually be armed? Only the criminals are going to threaten with the gun, which they would do, gun laws or no. A gun sitting nearby is not in itself a threat. The threat comes from a person brandishing it.

Never apologize. The choir loves it.

The Second Amendment doesn’t say anything about background checks or having a license. It says ‘’...shall not be infringed’’. Rights aren’t supposed to be abridged. None of the others are.

Felons are denied voting rights (at least, they can be). Unfortunately, the only way to determine if someone is a felon is to have them produce ID and investigate.

Also unfortunately, many minor crimes are characterized as felonies in an attempt to get increased sentencing.

Shall not be infringed applies to law, meaning, you can’t (supposedly) write a law that infringes it. Checking if you’re a felon doesn’t fall into that category, unless the state is using it as an excuse to delay your ability to obtain.

Also, government is allowed to punish offenders. Such punishment is not considered an infringement of rights.

there is no way to stop mass shootings. they CAN however be minimized.
there is a fairly inexpensive, yet powerfully effective way to reduce any temptation...

the ‘progressives’ refuse to consider it, and they ostracize you if you even suggest it

What grinds my gears when these shootings happen are all the people that start spouting off saying 2A is there for citizens to shoot would-be criminals about to kill them or take their property. While that may be a benefit of 2A, the fundamental intent of 2A is to secure a free state.

The Republic is effectively dead. There truly is no representative governance.

And yet... by E.O., the undocumented half-breed communist community activist in the White House aims at taking away the last resort while his lackies in Congress enable this executive by repeatedly rolling on their back like supine catamites? No. F.U.

It is at the point to resecure the state, and maybe it will take a “crazy” person to stand up and take direct action.

Regarding point 1. (Control the border - Most illegal guns come from drug gangs smuggling weapons across...), I would love to have the stats on that for handy reference at future family get togethers. Do you know if there are stats available by state?

I don’t pay much attention to gun free zones. I CCW and am very careful about “printing.” Never had a problem.

You failed to mention that every one of these mass shooters has a history of mental illness and that our soft-headed society has no effective way to get them into treatment before they harm others.

The common denominator isn’t the weapon. It’s a mindset that wants to kill. Take away guns, and they’ll use explosives.

Guns aren't the problem...

In the fifties kids use to bring their guns to school on 'gun club' day... students would be walking in the hallways carrying a rifle and no one thought a thing about it. Guns were stored in school lockers until the after school club meeting started. No one was in danger.

What's the difference?

Liberals are working on turning our country into a hellhole... violence is an unintended consequence of that choice.

Here's something that would help:

Dems want gun legislation?

Fine.

Pass a Bill outlawing 'gun free' zones.

I agree. It's a racket. Get them the stiffest penalty(or fine) and any prosecutor is on his way up the political ladder and a cop is on his way off the beat and into a ‘’suit’’( a detective or chief). For the record I DO NOT believe in gun control laws of any kind.
