Drudge: “I had a Supreme Court Justice say to me it’s over for me."

Circulating on the web tonight:

During an appearance on the Alex Jones Show, Drudge asserted that copyright laws which prevent websites from even linking to news stories were being advanced.

“I had a Supreme Court Justice tell me it’s over for me,” said Drudge. “They’ve got the votes now to enforce copyright law, you’re out of there. They’re going to make it so you can’t even use headlines.”

“To have a Supreme Court Justice say to me it’s over, they’ve got the votes, which means time is limited,” he added, noting that a day was coming when simply operating an independent website could be outlawed.

“That will end (it) for me – fine – I’ve had a hell of a run,” said Drudge, adding that web users were being pushed into the cyber “ghettos” of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

“This is ghetto, this is corporate, they’re taking your energy and you’re getting nothing in return – nothing!”

Doesn’t stop anyone from posting a vanity starting “My opinion about what I read”

Could this be the start of seeing more civil disobedience coming all this?

“The MSM DESPERATELY wants to return to the days when THEY controlled what was news with reporters reaching movie star status. The internet destroyed that.”

Yes.

Stuff like this will only make Trump and Cruz very popular.

“Its not as dire as we might think. Article URLs can be sited and the discussion still held online, we would just be reading them off site in their original publication location, or alternatively we could be moving all of our host servers to Iceland, Norway, China, or Russia. No problem really.”

Sounds like having to create our own ‘Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’, only now the country with the suppressed access to accurate information is the US.

I got off “Facebook” about 4 or 5 years ago. Went there
originally to read something of Palin’s; but got sucked in
and signed on before I knew what had hit me. Then I was
trapped for 2 or 3 years, until they finally provided an
escape hatch where I could see it. I took it and am free of
it. - A friend’s DIL used to get on there and post every
time they went on a trip or vacation, posted photos of her
redecorating projects. After one trip; they came home and
had been cleaned out by one of her “friends” on Facebook.
I’ve a cousin who had literally THOUSANDS of “friends” when
I got off. NOBODY has that many “friends”.

What is the copyright law he is referring to?

Write our own!

Yes. Take the fight to them.

But why must a link not be posted? Seems really extreme to me.

because it’s their property, no one can provide their address? that seems odd to me. Does that mean the phone company is in violation for putting out a phone book?

“Without links the internet falls apart, literally.”.....

When they go, will they please take those damn pop-up ads along with them?

That’s right - and cellphones made it even worse. There was no way the media could hide the fact that fans at a Baltimore Orioles baseball game had to be kept in the stadium after the game ended because animals were running riot nearby.

Anyone with a cellphone can quickly release actual events via YouTube, without the enemdia’s screening.

That is exactly Google and Yahoo do, create links to copyrighted material, but I suppose when it comes to enemies of freedom in this country they don’t care, censorship is more important to them so they can advance their fascist BS.

Yep. We can write our own headlines which come from primary sources, not the wires. :)

The only way they can get around that would be criminalizing citizen reporting.

The impact of any such "legislation" would be enormous as to affected business ... definitely google, bing, yahoo at the top. And it is stupid. Every website/business that is linked on Drudge (or elsewhere) BENEFITS from the link, which merely expands its reach.

This is ALL about Hillary and 0bama trying to shut down Drudge, because he is consistently over the target exposing their deceit and corruption .....

I always read the source. Like I always read the verses and chapter of any Bible reference to keep it all in context. Takes an enormous amount of time though.

I saw this video last night also, minutes after Drudge linked it. My immediate thought was that the states need to be on top of this just like some of them have already passed proactive 2nd A laws to prevent the Feds from overreaching. I have no idea how that would work, but hopefully it’s applicable.

Gov Abbott, I hope you’re paying attention!

This is not just a dem thing. GOP-e is complicit. This is why they have not aggressively fought the FCC’s internet grab with regulations which will stifle the free flow of information. I expect to see the new regulations enforced after the first of the year.

Politicians are like Ian Bernard Mercer who blames the gun, not his son for the murder if 9 people. Politicians blame those who seek the truth rather than their own self-serving motives when it hits the fan.
It is in the best interests of those inside the beltway to keep us stupid. They will stop at nothing.

They can put up barriers, but truth is an unstoppable force. It will rise to the top.
