The Crucifix reminds us that Christ died for our sins.

It certainly doesn’t have anything to do with denying that He rose again and is no longer on the cross.

It is precisely because we are reminded that is was OUR SINS that put Christ on that cross, that people object.

The fish symbol means something special to Christians, but it is not held out in the same prominence as the cross. That is, Christians may bow down and pray in front of the cross, but I have never heard them doing that to the fish symbol. If I follow your point...
