Adele Benita, one of the surviving victims of Saturday's terror attack in Jerusalem's Old City, gave a chilling account of how the stabbing attack, that killed her husband and another man who came to the family's help, unfolded and how her cries for help were ignored as she herself was stabbed repeatedly.
“I yelled ‘please help me!’ and they just spat at me,” Benita told the Israeli Ynet news site of the surrounding Palestinian store owners, whom she said stood by as the Palestinian terrorist, 19-year-old Muhanad Halabi, stabbed her husband to death in an alleyway near Lion’s Gate in the Old City.
The family's two-year-old son was also lightly injured in the attack after the attacker wrestled the weapon Aharon Benita was carrying from him and began shooting at a nearby group of tourists and police. The Benita's infant girl miraculously remained unharmed.
Benita was taken in serious condition to Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem in Jerusalem, where she underwent a life saving emergency surgery overnight Saturday.
Her husband died of his wounds at Shaare Zedek Hospital, also in Jerusalem, shortly after the attack.
“When we got back from the Western Wall, we felt that something wasn’t right,” she told Ynet news from her hospital bed Sunday.
“We started walking fast but the terrorist emerged from one of the stores and lunged at us and started stabbing my husband. My husband is a strong man and started fighting him, he punched him in the face. At that point, the terrorist started stabbing me. Then he went back to my husband and stabbed him again and again. I also fought him, I tried to take away the knife, but I failed,” she recounted.
Benita said Palestinian youths who witnessed the attack laughed and cursed at her as she cried for help.
One of them slapped her while another laughed in her face and told her to “drop dead” when she told him she would give him a million shekels if he helped her get to safety with her two toddlers.
“They saw that we were with two baby carriages,” she said.
Nehemia Lavi, 41, an Old City resident who heard Benita's cries for help, came to help and he too was stabbed and killed by the terrorist.
Lavi and Banita were laid to rest Sunday at the Givat Shaul cemetery in Jerusalem.
The terrorist was shot dead by security forces at the scene.

Politically, the world lined up to support the PLO and Hamas and praise them and excuse their behavior when the massacre Israeli or Arab babies and put pressure on Israel.
That scam is not working so well because the behavior of the outside world has become so stilted and morally inverted by their support for PLO and Hamas terrorists who have set up a reign of terror against the Palestinian people they claim to represent and who have gotten rich stealing most of the international money suppled by the US, Europe, The Arab States, the UN and Israel and what they did not steal, they wasted on the construction of tunnels to attack Israel from.
The PLO and Hamas cannot get a lot worse and the “International Community” is made up of Jew haters who are openly helping the PLO and Hamas terrorists wage war on Israel . Thinly thing left for them to escalate their support of Palestinians is to jump in the fox he with them and start shooting at Israeli soldiers.
As the International Community openly morphs into Pro Palestinian mercenaries standing shoulder to shoulder with their Hamas allies, it has less and less leverage on Israel and certainly no moral authority as an honest broker of peace
As outside pressure on Israel gets less and less leverage, the Palestinians get more violent and nihilistic to the point where even the most ardent, committed and idealistic members of the Jewish Left are having to face the reality they were conned at Oslo and they never had a Partner for Peace in the PLO or the Palestinian people and the whole Peace Process was an fraud that the Palestinians never intended to honor but instead used the agreement to get a foothold in Israel so they could implement there Phased Plan for the Destruction of Israel.
Of course , that was their second priority goal, their first priority goal was get the away from Tunisia where they were about to be wiped out by the Tunisian people for their violence and criminal behavior and their desire to take over the local Tunisian government and rule over the Tunisian people.
This is after the King of Jordan tried as hard as possible to exterminate the Palestinians in Jordan and then exiled any who escaped in what became to be known as Black September
No Israeli Jew believes they have a partner for peace and the generation of young Israelis entering adulthood are the Intifada Generation who have known nothing but Palestinian violence, terror attacks and treachery for their entire lives and are under none of illusions or moral posting of their parents. They know that it's going to be fight to the death with Hamas in there future thanks to the ideological blindness of there parents
Up until recently, the collective and ethical values of the Israeli people stayed their hands when it came to dealing with the Palestinians in the ruthless manner that they treat the Israelis. That is changing too as the Israeli people are coming to the conclusion that the only way to deal with the Palestinians is the Jordanian Black September methods
The next conflict may stun Palestinians who have spent their whole lives receiving a slap on the wrist for even the most heinous crimes and expect that that is the way t will always be ,even as they ramp the violence and provocation to increasingly unacceptable levels. There is a good chance that in the near future, Israel is going to let the big dogs out of their cages and let them run off leash to deal with the PLO and Hamas.
She must be delusional that such a thing. We have been instructed that Islam is a religion of peace.
I mean, no one in our government would LIE to us about such a thing.

These creatures need to be isolated and contained away from normal people until they evolve into human beings- maybe in 3,000 years from now.
No. They need to be given a chance to accept Jesus or a bullet.
They should have strong gun laws like Chicago to prevent knife attacks. /s

When I was stationed there in mid 80’s and again in late 92 it was ok for all Israeli citizens to pack at the very least a handgun..... what changed , if it did at all and who would not carry over there to protect their family ??
The Muslim loves him some murder.
They are so peaceful they didn’t join in the attack.
