My response was to the narrative in post 8. Seems like if dirtbag took himself out, the last thing you would hear is gunshot. But....I have heard of people uttering a last coherent sentence after a fatal shot.

Not everyone dies instantly after being shot. I could share some gruesome stories, but I’ll spare you the details.

Yep. I personally know of two. Each time, they calmly asked if they had been shot. Then immediately died.
