Saudis Mull Launch Of Regional War As Russia Pounds Targets In Syria For Fourth Day
Zero Hedge ^ | 4 Oct 2015

While the US has certainly made some epic strategic blunders in Syria that raise serious questions about just how “intelligent” US intelligence actually is, there’s little doubt that if one were to look behind all of the media parroting, the Pentagon and Langley understand all too well what’s going on in the Middle East.

That is, the significance of the Russia-Iran “nexus” in Syria isn’t lost on anyone in the US military and you can bet there have been quite a few high level discussions over the past 72 hours about the best way to counter Moscow and Tehran’s powerplay before it spills over into Iraq and ends up degrading Washington’s influence in Baghdad.

As we put it on Friday, “if Russia ends up bolstering Iran's position in Syria (by expanding Hezbollah's influence and capabilities) and if the Russian air force effectively takes control of Iraq thus allowing Iran to exert a greater influence over the government in Baghdad, the fragile balance of power that has existed in the region will be turned on its head and in the event this plays out, one should not expect Washington, Riyadh, Jerusalem, and London to simply go gentle into that good night.”

Sure enough, some experts now predict Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey will move to counter Russia militarily if Moscow continues to rack up gains for Assad.

You mean the United States.....Bahrain is building a military base for the British in the Gulf....Reminded me of the old days of the wealthy British Empire when they used the “Arab Legion” to protect their interests in the Middle East....I guess now the wealthy Saudis may have to hire “The NATO Legion” from the poorer European countries and the United States to fight for their interests.

“The Turks, Saudis, and Obama’s State Department lost the war when their proxies started slaughtering Christians. I don’t know how they turn this around.”

They play the chickenhawk Obamacon game. Bleat stupidity about Soviets, supremacy and Uncle Sam to herd enough bobble heads into nodding along with them. The fact is that Russia’s intervention is a stick in the eye to every whoreson transnational elite in the entire world. We need to pull the plug on the depraved and murderous international policies of this administration, and its fellow travelers like McCain.

As the Muslim population of the Middle East is approximately 80% Sunni, 15% Shiite, and 10% other, Shiite Iran and Syria are badly outnumbered and need Russian “Janissaries” to do most if not all of their fighting for them.

Lucky for Iran, "we" just gave them $150B to help them pay for their Russian mercenaries.

attributed to Sunni Saudi Arabia’s influence within our government through campaign contributions and bribes. Your guess is as good as mine as to why these facts aren’t being openly discussed by our government spokesmen and our Main Stream Media.

Kissinger established the petro-dollar in 1973. The petro-dollar is what allows the US to rack up multi-trillions in public debt. Without the ability to print the reserve currency, the US would not be able to fund its welfare & warfare spending programs. To a debtor nation, the ability to continue deficit financing operating expenditures is critical to the survival of the state.

If you were among the small percentage of people who understood this dynamic, and continued to enjoy the financial rewards this knowledge brings, why would you ever even entertain the notion of revealing this advantage? NYC, DC, SF & LA are all experiencing windfall booms right now due to Fed printing activities. NYC for being the dealer, DC for being the direct beneficiary, and SF/LA being the secondary beneficiaries from spending programs & market pumping. (I'm in the LA region and reap the requisite rewards for being in the right place and leveraging existing policies.)

Look around you to observe your fellow Americans. Why should they get a break? Why do they deserve something when they haven't spent the time to educate themselves? People as ignorant as the great majority deserve exactly what they currently getting and will continue to get. A nation so juvenile that it elects someone like Hussein is a nation that simply cannot compete with those that understand the rules of the 'gods of copybook headings'.

“SAUDI boys going to go fight and die in numbers, huh..?

This I gotta see...!! Oh, puh-leeeeze...”

Yup, the Saudis got the ultimate bug-out strategy with all their money in Swiss banks, ownership of substantial parts of the Western Ruling Class, and their jets all gassed up and ready to fly. Given that their patronage has underwritten all things islamofascist, there is a certain justice in them reaping the whirlwind.

"Our first move is to get the C-I-C to resign and replace him with someone competent."

Well that would be nice. But who would you replace the pseudo America pResident with? Biden? I don't think so. Next in line if Biden doesn't want it would be John Beohner. I don't think that would work either. And I don't think there is anybody in Obama's cabinet that is trustworthy enough for the position. Really quite a sad state of affairs for the American people. But getting rid of Obama would be a great start!

Which in the end is exactly why it’s best to stay out of most MidEast kerfuffles. Most of the time there are no good guys, and they all have cousins. It always turns into a mess you’re stuck in for a decade, and nobody knows what there was to be gained forget actual gains.

In a world of grays and shadows and allies who look like enemies and enemies who look like allies, you have to have a very good compass.

The only ones who would benefit from the Saudis getting a war are the bar owners and prostitutes in Paris.

Ain’t that the truth? These guys get the Infidels to do their fighting and put up their refugee Brothers.
I imagine they have hired hands to lift them on-and-off their harem girls and prize nanny goats.

I met a shiek from Mozambique
who led me to the Congo.
He dreamed to go to Mexico
and sample a burrito.

My temperature had risen again,
it must have been a hundred and ten.

.....”Saudi Arabia and Qatar were already providing financial assistance for the anti-Assad forces and Turkey has, for some time, expanded that to include the actual bombing of the only effective (i.e., Kurdish) forces fighting ISIS”.....

Indeed...right on! Turkeys been pounding the Kurds under the disguise they'd be fighting ISIS. So where was the outcry from our Government over that???????

What this sounds like to me is this..... Obammy did the deal with Iran because Russia told him to. I mean told him to under no uncertain terms. So, he does the Iran deal, even though it was political suicide for him and the Democrats in this country... but he had to. And then, after he did the deal.... Putin double crossed him and is going to do whatever the heck Putin wants to do, regardless of what Obammy wants.

"Assad is an Alawite"

Alawite is a sub-sect of the Shiite sect of Islam. Some say it isn't and some say it is, but it's a point I don't care to argue.
