Who cares?

Their donuts have been dreadful for years.

The name should be changed.

I don’t know about all DD franchises but all the ones I’ve been to in MD and PA are all owned and operated by Indians (dot not feather). Not that I have a problem with many Indians - I have a co-worker and a personal friend who are Indian, both great gals and proud American citizens, one is a Christian and very politically conservative, and I once worked with a guy who was born in the US but who’s family, several generations back was originally from India and was a Sikh – really nice fellow.

But then again the one DD I used to frequent in MD to buy DD coffee beans before they started selling them in the grocery store and would occasionally buy donuts or muffins from this DD franchise, but I stopped going after the franchise was bought out by an Indian family.

For one thing, the service went way down hill – it became very slow and really rather rude and they were often out of most of the more popular donuts no matter the time if day and often what they had left looked like it was yesterday’s leftovers. Another reason I stopped going was that the place started smelling of such bad and rank BO that it overpowered the smell of the donuts. And another reason was that none of them working the counter spoke much if any English. When ordering donuts, I’d have to point to the shelf and then after she pointed to one type of donut, I’d slowly say “no – two over and one down from that one” using hand gestures to try to get her to understand.

Egad! Joe was right!

Some of the DD stores are merely outlets, product trucked in. Was disappointed one day. Obviously old donuts. Haven’t been to a DD since.

Yup. Been happening for several years now. 11am and I got stale donuts once. Forget it. They've lost their way.

That said, near my house is a Hess gas station that makes the DD onsite. Freshest and best tasting DD for miles around. It's what DD used to be.

...along with concerns with the rise in minimum wage laws in cities across the country....

This living-wage and minimum-wage ruse is a wonderful two-fer for the democrats:

1. they scoop up many voters who buy the line that they are for the little folks, the poor and downtrodden and want to help them by mandating an ever-increasing minimum wage, and

2. in actuality, when the jobs actually disappear due to these draconian minimum wage laws, the lower rungs of the ladder are sawn off, leaving these low skilled folks no option but government cheese. NOW the dems have their locked-in constituency, who will never vote in a way that would diminish their life-support handouts.

This plan is absolute GENIUS for the calculating, power-hungry, amoral democrats.

OH but the business owners just have PILES of ca$h they are sitting on WASTING it! They can afford to give more away! This is just an example of greed in action. That franchise owner is just retiring with his piles of ca$h, instead of sharing it with everyone else.

I have the same experience with Indian owned DD’s in MD. I thought it was just me being racist to notice.

They are all very friendly and quick with the service; in the ones I’ve been in at least.
