Obama Goes Beyond Mere Gun Control, Hints at Confiscation

When President Obama spoke in reaction to the heinous October 1 attack on Umpqua Community College, he went beyond his usual calls for more gun control and suggested instead that America consider following the path blazed by Australia and Great Britain.

In the mid-1990s Australia and Great Britain both instituted what were virtually complete bans on firearm possession.

Obama referenced the bans thus:

We know that other countries, in response to one mass shooting, have been able to craft laws that almost eliminate mass shootings.  Friends of ours, allies of ours — Great Britain, Australia, countries like ours.  So we know there are ways to prevent it.

A good guess. 3% did the fighting in the American Revolution. They were actively supported by 10% of the population, who in turned were inactively supported by another 20% of the population.

The 3% will know who they are.

Are you counting multiple gun ownership. Hell, owning 3 or 4 would be normal and that puts the total “gun ownership” much higher.

The US Census 2014 Total population estimate 318,957,056. The gun ownership estimate (Statistic Brain Research Institute) sets forth ownership at approximately 34%, 108,445,400.

Even 2% would approximate 2,168,908 (many with multiple guns).
At 3% it would be 3,253,362 (many with multiple guns).

Depending on the scenario, if families, communities, the nation were threatened with the eradication of their way of life, I would surmise your 1-3% figure would increase substantially.
